'Problem is Sex View, plus. sext tv and all opperate out side current UK censorship laws so a bloke with a cheapo DVDR can hook in to the system and record all day long. Then if trading standards can be bothered they can't do nothing because it's an illegal broadcast which would result in a pirate being done for copying from a pirate, british law aint ready for this one as they would have to prossecute media sat first who would then counter sue for restriction of buisness'

To the best of my knowledge sexview isn't an illegal broadcast.
The country where it is broadcast from is the country it's laws it has to abide by. It is totally legal.

BillBXD is right. Once the market is opened up, the producers retailers will have a better chance of defeating the pirates. So write to the BBFC and force them to allow HC at 18 sex works certificate, ambiguously 18 arthouse and educational certificates are permitted to show HC. It is a blatent discrimination against yourselves that your 18 certifcate works suffer unnecessary censorship, which under ECHR must be fully justified by proof of actual harm before censorship can be applied and this after broadmindedness and tolerance has been taken into consideration.

Bang on mate the problem is most of the people replying to this strand are retailers and so the piraters are hurting them BIG TIME hence their whine whine and make you feel guilty.
Tell you what guys lets have a real chat. We shoot porno and invest on average ?1000 for an hours footage. The girl gets around ?500 the guy gets ?200 and then the venue (not a poxy hotel room like 90% of the british crap). Then before we can do anything we must get a BBFC certificate (R18) which costs ?1000 with the vat. So the BBFC gets more than the girl and the guy and guess who pays it (the numpties will have their shoes and socks off), THE CONSUMER! Go abroad and see why porno over there is as cheap as chips and ask a question, WHY.
Guys I must reply to the ridiculous comments that sex view and plus are LEGAL in britain because of EU member state. The UK broadcasting authority strictly forbid the transmission of harder material than 18 and 18 can be showed on any broadcaster with prior agreement observing watershed, why because its SHITE. It furthjer stipulates that NO FILM can be aired without classification. We sell 10 films every year to media sat for use on Sex View and plus and Sex tv and none of them have classification.
Guys these channells are great and you should all have official cards but please remember they are only legal in the country of ORIGIN!

Now please think before replying

so removing the R18 category will automatically stop piracy? after all its only adult DVDs that are pirated, right??

R18 makes absolutely no difference to the piracy element of this discussion - from U right thru PG, 12, 15, 18 and uncertified US and Euro porn etc etc piracy is rife. It comes down to people not wanting to pay the rightful owner the rightful price for the products they receive and therefore stealing from them - doesnt matter how you gloss over it or how you try and justify it thats exactly what it is. However (while still illegal) I dont have a major issue with Joe Punter copying a DVD and giving it to a mate for non commercial gain - the people I have an issue with are those who set out to make money at the expense of others.

At the end of the day piracy will always flourish as long as people are prepared to buy it - only way to stop it is for the public not to support it, end of story!

What about pirate copies

Guys I will finish with this strand by saying that if the genuine article was cheap and readily on sale copying would only account for 13% of the industry like textile, watches, and other branded merchandise. Of course the middle man would be GONE overnight and all that but all the time we have this mad sittuation where we are told when what and where adults can buy porno copying will floorish and over the last few years I have seen it grow wild.
Remeber the guy who buys copies down the car boot on a SUNDAY doesn't care about my production costs or the BBFC and he certainly doesnt have a CONSCIENCE! He has ???s in his pocket and just like any other consumer he wants as much as he can get for his hard earned, its called FREEDOM.

For 10 years my wife and I have done bleedin well out of the adult industry and despite copying if you get it right you'll make dosh. I don't mean a daft web site offering w### fodder and a few vids of couples bangin I mean the whold package. The main problem in the UK is when the going gets tough we ask for LAWS to protect us.

R18 DVDSHOP
So what you are saying is that if you could drop your prices and compete on a level with european/american companies that copies would still floorish. here is a fact. DVD copies are crap as an average PC re scales image size to fit on the DVDR disc (4.4 gig allowing for FAT table) any editor will tell you that the best masters are uploaded on to DAT. So the DVDR (Copy) is crap and when viewed on average 28" tv suffers from pixel out as it can only see the black pixels as black unlike the original DVD5 which contains full flow as a DLT file size is always bigger than 4.2 gig hence the need for RIPPING, most british production companies cut corners and master to DVDR (DUH) which makes copying even easier. So your conclussion is that if a guy can buy a copy at ?5 from a booter for a product that most times is CVD and crap and will probaly only conatain half the film or he could buy the reall deal for a few pounds more he would buy CRAP? If that logic worked no one would wear branded clothing and market awareness viewed by millions would be gone.
