I agree what you're saying about when re-runs are shown, but when the originals were on I was probably just a youngish teenager (31 now) so when I watched the likes of The Professionals, A-Team, S & H etc they seemed fantastic at the time.

True, I loved six million dollar man as well, but cringe at reruns now. Moonlighting (Willis and Shepard) still holds up well though, as does Hill Street Blues.

I blame you for confusing me?

Your original thread says Martin Lewis....Eh?

See your original thread

I agree with you though...just thought i might have missed a series or something

The thought of Bodie(skinhead) with a perm made me chuckle even if it never happened

cheers

I was 10 when I watched the Sweeney for the first time

Great show but couldn't understand a word of the slang

The Professionals was easily understood...brainless fodder really
but it appealed to a 10 year old

As for Hill St Blues...probably one of the only Yank Cop shows that had a little bit of credibilty

Don't know about Moonlighting....never could stand Cybil Shepherd
Bruce was his usual slick self.....just warmimg up for diehard part 1,2,3,4,5,6

I suppose your a Diehard fan as well?

cheers

Hill Strret Blues was ahead of its time, so thats a reason it still shows well, however, LA Law was good at the time, but reruns of that makes it look VERY dated. I did like the first few seasons of NYPD Blue, but thats shite now. Die Hard 1 was good, the rest shite. Willis is VERY one dimensional, but when he burst on the scene in Moonlighting, you could see he was gonna be huge.

Guilty, I was tired, confused the actor and a character, actually Martin Lewis is a poncey newsreader over here, but doesnt have a dodgy perm

All sequels are usually shite

Diehard would have been shite to but for Alan Rickman

The same way he saved that god damn awful production with Kevin Costner cast as Robin Hood(with an American accent)

The only exceptions I can think of sequels that have equaled or bettered the original would be the Flying High & Naked Gun series.Monumental achievements...NOT

Hill St BLues was probably the first to be very down to earth as opposed to the usual action based series that preceded it

La Law & NYPD blue were always destined to die a sad death

You see the shows these days that fragment from the original series to the special department of that series. Its all so similar

They aren't any different to day time soaps which everybody bags ie Melrose Place...dayime...Nightime..complete crap
Thats why i don't bother with them at all

cheers
