If you walk down Penny Lane you will see a fruit and veg shop called

Pete Best Fruit and veg !

I asked the old guy who works there if he was Pete Best and he said check this out and started drumming with his hands on a table .........

thats fantastic so the song was based on actual things,saw pete best on esther yrs ago he seemed ok im sure he recorded im gonna knock on your door in the early 60s.

saw that film yrs ago on ch4,there seemed to be some sexual chemistry with lennon/sutcliffe,i read stories/gossip that says lennon was gay[?]the brian epstein one but these days they can say anything

In Christopher Munch's The Hours and Times (1992), a film that examined the relationship between Lennon and Beatles manager Brian Epstein.

I dont think there is any question about Epstein's infatuation with Lennon
but this story really comes from the infamous Albert Goldman book ...

Lets face it most people had a dabble with bothsides of the pitch in the 60s/70s but this story could just be Goldmans gay dream .....
