I think you will find that more than 50% of the population DO wear a poppy as this country is made up of a large number of people who fought in both World Wars & people who lived though WW2. They wear them to remember their friends who did not make it though the war & younger people remembering service personnel lost in more recent battles.

Nice chatting to you but I can see this debate/argument already going round and round in circles

You say the 2 minute silence is apathetic
I say its a positive

and No I wasn't saying you had Right Wing leanings just pointing out that thats how the world would more than likely be today if not for those we honor with the 2 minute silence

So lets just agree to disagree

cheers

Put me in my place? Don't make me laugh- I eat fools like you for breakfast. You're the sort of bloke who gets regularly beaten up in pubs because you never know when to stop flogging a dead horse.
And as usual, you've got the wrong end of the stick with a vengeance: my 'history' demonstrates that, much as you'd prefer the alternative to be true, I'm not the troll here. Your wild, unsubstantiated (and unresearched)accusation is typical of what passes for 'argument' in your mind: "On the Internet, a troll is a person who posts messages that create controversy or an angry response without adding content to the discussion, often intentionally...........trolls often resort to innuendo or misdirection in the pursuit of their objective, which is to create controversy for its own sake, discredit those with whom they disagree, or sabotage discussion by creating an intimidating atmosphere" Sound familiar?.
I don't know where you dreamt up that 50%, but here is a statistic: . 18 million sold, from a population of around 31 million. Now, I suppose, you'll argue that Canadians are way more 'poppy-orientated' than us, or some such rubbish.

I don't think G is the least bit interested in things like facts, B.
He's made some valid points, but seems to have taken umbrage with me for some reason.
Quel dommage...............

Giles, I remind you of the abusive posts - by you - which I deleted. If anyone is the troll her it is you. Anyway I'm tired of having to read this rubbish. Thread closed.
