The location was South London near Brixton prison. The aircraft circled making several runs. I was close to the prison and the aircraft seemed really low, lower in fact than helicopters usually fly.

I can only rely on my description at the time-above. Ihad a three quarters view from beneath. I think that they were jets and I could not see any props. They emiited a distinct whooshing sound. I think that they were quite small because I have been beneath military fighters and they are gone in a second making an extremely loud noise. These were very futuristic unidentified aircraft.

There is no way these aircraft could have permission to fly so low. They were jet black without any markings and the cockpits were black or darkened glass.

That is as objective as I can get.

Mike.

Hi Wellbeforth,
People did report seeing aircraft over South London (see above) and a cover story was printed describing the aircraft as helicopters. They bore no resemblance to helicopters!

Sorry, but with such a vague description there's not much more I can do to help.

You saw what you saw but, given that you were in the South of the most populous city in te UK which abounds with aviation enthusiasts, that there have been no reports from the professional or enthusiast community and that there are no airfields close by, what you saw will likely remain a mystery but is highly umlikely to be anything remarkable, rather a trick of perception and distance

Actually, UFO can be both, by classification/definition, of either unknown Space ships from outside of our world, or some new Aircraft from our world, but has not been recognised officially, yet.

Hi Snake,
Maybe mysteryman will identify them for us?
Mike.

UFOs are classified as any aerial phenomena which have been investigated and for which a positive identification has not or cannot be confirmed.
