Over the last 10 yrs, in the different towns I've lived in, most of the parents in the same areas don't bother eating at the table. Of those who actually owned a table, it was used mostly to store the computer, where the washing was stored until some1 needed clean clothes, or for nothing more than a plant-pot. Very rarely did any actually eat at the table.

Both parents working, not always any1 at home when Jr comes home from school? Makes me think of the old phrase:

Latch-Key Kids.

It doesn't work out right, but it should.

Children are encouraged to stay at home, against their will or not, as the amount of violence & paedo's on the streets is worse now than yrs ago.

So kids should be smarter & more socially interactive, but nope, thick as shit, & as ignorant as a dead rat.

When I was in the last yr of Jr School, we had visits from various organisations, inc Job Centre, who gave a speech on benefits & rights. They almost encouraged you to believe that going on the dole when you leave school, is the best way to go, they even told you about the benefits for housing, clothing, etc.
