If countries were people, The British (more so English) would be the person obsessed with self-harming.

I think it was that formerly funny chap Mr William Connolly Esq who described a well-balanced Scot as one who had a chip on each shoulder.

You obviously haven't seen the latest fashions their all wearing

You see Carac, as a Scot, Irishman, or Welshman, you can be proud without feeling awkward. Down here, to be proud of being English, you're classed as either a fascist, daily mail reading, BNP admirer, or a basic, mobile phone stealing, illiterate chav.

To be thought of as a fair, liberal minded, intellectual Englishman, you have to condemn everything English, and continually adorn other nations and culture with as much praise as is humanly possible.
