I was surprised by your original comment there is so much that can be fired at cabinet members but to suggest they never had jobs is just silly.

Up until the last local elections I have voted Labour and was starting to be tempted to vote for noo-tory but just before polling day our local Conservatives went door to door with a flyer saying if they got voted in they would donate ?40000 to a local campaign group to fight the building of a waste recycling plant in the area.

You can make your own decisions on how that adds up to Mr Cameron everything green agenda but what got me angry was their attempt to bribe and ultimately buy votes.

The tory's got in (and backtracked on their ?40000 donation when the legality was questioned) but since they have most of those elected have not been seen in the area.

The only one who has is a local businessman and everything he does has a link to his business when reported.

It's all Cllr X who owns X Garden Centre, never Cllr X the Cllr for the ward.

Labour has many many faults but the noo-tory's have shown me nothing locally that makes me want to vote for them.

Cameron talks well but when he came up here last in his helicopter he wouldn't let it be photographed, only his car and look at 'Dave' being green was used.

Yes, of course I?m aware that there are no such things as postal Jags or Versace uniforms. I was just being hilariously sarcastic- my readers expect to be entertained, you know. But I was genuinely shocked when I discovered that Alan Johnson was not the proletarian he has allowed voters to think him to be. Postie or not, Sloaney grammar Schools in Chelsea are about as far away from working class culture and experience as you can get. But I don?t hold that against him or his comrades. It?s the utter hypocrisy, the ?don?t do as I do, do as I say?, it?s the sneering at working class views, aspirations and ambitions, it?s the putting of obstacles in the way of those who want to work hard and get ahead.

I didn?t suggest those in the cabinet never had jobs before joining the government. I was suggesting they had precious little experience of jobs in industry, business and commerce ? the engines of wealth creation in this country. If they have had jobs they have been ?luvie jobs? working in media or law. They have not been involved in making things or selling things. The things that untimely generate the money that pays for everything ? including their highly inflated ?luvie wages?. They have never ?gotten their hands dirty?. What I am saying is that I would have a lot more respect for them and their snotty ivory tower, socialist, anti business sneerings if they showed a little gratitude to those who do make and sell things and generate all the dough to pay for schools, hospitals and, not least, their highly inflated ?luvie wages?. But why am I making these same points for the third time in this thread?

Regarding the next election. Never mind the petty little machinations of local politics. Look at the bigger picture ?

Do you want the State talking ever more of your hard earned dough off you and your family?

Do you want the state funding an ever-increasing stream of benefit dependent third world immigrants who share little of our standards and cultural values?

Do you want the Sate cataloguing you, databasing and labelling you, so that in future you will be far more vulnerable to it?s dictats and will?

Do you want the State dictating your thoughts; morals, utterances or proscribing what is or is not ?appropriate? (including looking at naked women) on pain of incarceration?

Do you want a society constrained by an ever-tightening strait jack of rules, regulations and laws? A state where the snotty little bureaucrat jobsworth is in the ascendant?

Do you want a state where problem pupils are allowed to disrupt and ultimately ruin your child?s education in the interests of inclusiveness? Do you want a state where those who make the rules are allowed to exempt themselves and their children from the inner city sink schools that they have created?

Do you want a once highly respected army with a proud tradition being run down at the same time as it is being asked to do more and more on the international stage? Do you want to sit by while brave working class lads die and ivory tower socialists sit by and sneer at their profession and achievements? Do you want those who have laid their lives on the line or been injured to be forgotten and swept under the carpet, lest they offend the anti-militaristic sensibilities of posh middleclass socialists?

These are just a few of the issues David Cameron touched on during his acclaimed speech (even by his opponents) last Wednesday. These are the questions you should be asking yourself come the next election. Never mind Tory councillors advertising their local garden centre.

I did notice that you didn't reply to the points about the tory bribe / buying votes to get in then back tracking on promises or Dave's be green (or at least hide the fact if your not) helicopter rides.

I'd question the point about local political issues not being important they are because it shows what you get if / when they get in.

The only other point I would like to pick up on at the mo is the death's of soldiers and the suggestion that only working class lads can be brave.
