Fade to Grey by Visage was featured on last night's episode.As was the brilliant 'Souvenir' by OMD and the stomping 'The Prince' from the iconic North London 80's band Madness.

I never remembered Midge Ure in Visage !confused!.Ultravox(obviously)

Shame the researchers cant get there years correct, the prince was 79 and indeed a skanktastic track and geno was 80 , but i thought last nights episode wasnt too bad

You have a good point,but it would be more silly if the researchers used music post 1981 as opposed to pre 1981.But i've noticed a few 'deliberate errors' since the programme started last week.

In my opinion this series does not work as well as Life From Mars. In the original John Sim did not know what had happened to him, and neither did the viewer, he had to work it out for himself. In Ashes to Ashes Keeley Hawes has read the file, so she knows what is happening to her, so she has none of the bewilderment that John Sim had to cope with. Alex is just too sassy, I can't sympathise with her the way I can for Sam Tyler.

Steve Strange was the 'public face' of Visage, most of the music was created by members of Ultravox & Magazine. Most of the promo work for Visage was done by Steve Strange solo or just with female backing singers, the songs were mainly written by Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Rusty Egan & Strange. If they had appeared as a band Visage would have been shorn of much of the New Romantic appeal, as talented as they were they were no Duran, Spandau or Culture Club in respect of 'image' wheras Steve had it in spades....

Seen Steve Strange in that celebrity hairdressing thing the last couple of
years and he still has a certain aura about him.
He has paid the price for his past lifestyle in that he is not the full shilling
But he is funny as fuck the way he goes about things

Also saw a documentary about him a couple of years ago - going back to
his old home in Wales - and it was prety sad what had happened to him

Nope although it was number 1 in July around the time of royal wedding also coincided with the inner city riots which made it such a poignant tracks
