While i have no time for celebrity gossip,i'm even more annoyed at the sneering media and some members of the public's attitude to this couple.
Let's face it,they're not a manufactured couple ala Jordan and Peter,Posh and Becks,Cashley and Sheryl, need i go on?
Rooney and Colleen have known each other since childhood, that is the difference.
Another factor is real, genuine family people and friends were invited.Colleen even banned Rooney's England and Man Utd team mates from the invitation list.
And so what if Colleen travelled to New York on numerous occasions to make sure her wedding dress fits properly?
So what if OK magazine paid them ?5m for the photo rights?
Even the football media had their pound of flesh when they stated that Rooney getting married during Euro 2008 was an 'insult' to England fans, because he should of been playing there.
I'm not insulted. Then again,i've got a life of my own.
Good luck to them i say.May they have many, many happy years together.

Mate, you ought to get out a bit more.Seems to me you have the case of the Green eyed monster.
If you believe you have the talents to be rich and successful, you should go out and use it.God blessed us all with brains. It's down to us how we use them.
You would'nt be whinging if you were a footballer or a popstar etc,and your missus was only a girl next door,or if you were lucky enough to be fixed up with a supermodel, actress or singer?
Fair enough,i might have cheap digs at Rooney as a footballer and might name him as 'Shrek'.But when it comes to him and his missus,i've certainly got no criticism there.

MikeCFC. There is no green eyed monster in me. I stated earlier that I have not even one word of criticism for other people who are much much wealither and more sucessful than she is. If it was all about envy then I would slate people like Alan Sugar and Richard Branson. I never have, I have only praise for them. It's the vacous, non entity, ego, 'look at me aren't I great', sort of celebrity - when the person has never done anything - that really annoys me. People who lie about how they write books or songs when they don't, etc. And as for you other point about how I would love to be rich and sucessful, how do you know I'm not?

Max.the point i'm making is that Rooney and Colleen are a genuine couple that have known each other since childhood.I can understand the fake couples getting stick, because they do lead false lives, and are so much up their own arses.
Can you see Rooney and Colleen having a series about their lives on ITV2?,especially while Rooney is a Man Utd player?.Don't think Ferguson will stand for that.
And if you are rich and successful, then good luck to you !thumbsup!

I tend to agree with this one. Rooney could have had the pick of any wannabee WAG, but stuck with Coleen as they have known each other for years, and there is a lot of sincerity there.
NOW.........would Abi Clancey or Alex Curran given either of Crouch or Gerrard a second look if they were'nt rich footballers? NOT A CHANCE, so at least Rooney has someone who'll stick with his even if his career ended tomorrow, whereas I can see Abi Clancey dropping Crouch like a stone if he gets transferred to the shitty city that is Portsmouth!

It's true that Wayne and Coleen knew each other long before, so she is genuinely into him and would likely still be his girlfriend even if he hadn't made it as a footballer. She could have remained out of the limelight though like some rockstar wives do, and she also didn't have to lie about how she is 'an author'.

well, last time I saw a book written and published and selling, that makes the writer an author.
But I know where you are coming from

Spot on Ace.Clancy must be tearing her blonde bimbo locks out that her spiderbaby boyfriend is not being eyed by the likes of Chelsea,Man Utd,Arsenal.Don't think she'll enjoy the sea air of the South Coast !whistle!
It's known that Alex Curran tried to tempt Gerrard into joining Chelsea,as she's very good mates with Toni Poole and Elen Rivas(JT's and Lampard's missus). She also wanted to move to London.
Cheryl definetley was behind Cashley's move to Chelsea. They both have the same agents and it was no secret that Ashley prefered Madrid as his destination, until Cheryl had her say.

Ace. Yes, it makes the WRITER an author. Not someone who was interviewed and asked about her life, and then had every word of that interview shaped into a memoir. This is just as ridiculous as calling the person who is the subject of a magazine interview the writer of the interview. And the columns in magazines she supposedly writes - the jist of what she wants to say will be verbally told by her to someone down a phone line and that person will then write it up - yet again though she is billed as the writer.

'never ending attacks' .. I think your exaggerating the actual number. Yes, of course one is too many and such attacks can result in a needless and tragic loss of life, but I think this exaggeration of frequency is what the namby pambies .. er, sociologists would call 'deviancy amplification'. Reports tend to make such attacks seem more prevalent than they are .. it's an iceberg effect where your attention is drawn to what's visible and you don't see the other nine tenths of supervision and more positive adjustments. Where's the story value when it goes right ?
