To me there isn't a great deal of difference between 'Penny Lane' and 'Round Are Way'. The Beatles retained their accents which I dare say for some created a perception that they lacked intelligence. Similarly I dare say that to some people the Beatles appeared to lack intelligence according to the way they dressed.
It's not about Noel or Liam's intelligence but about what you choose to attribute to them. Take some responsibility for your prejudices.

"james its like the biggest news story of the week and has been on pretty much every single news channel not to mention website, radio etc
You dont happen to be an eskimo do you???"
Biggest news story? I was told "The band have ended." All I can find on "every single news channel not to mention website, radio etc" is that N. Gallagher has walked out (again).
Where's the story that "the band have ended" ?
Give me a link please.

Yes, and he was right about Coldplay - the most careerist band imaginable. Everything they do and say smacks of boardroom decisions.
Oasis? For those still listening, their last two albums were a marked improvement on the previous pair, but Dig Out Your Soul has struggled to sell, so not many were.
They may well be back, but with the industry dying on its arse I suspect new material won't be as important as dewy-eyed crowds paying top dollar to hear all the old hits. Which is true of so many these days I suppose.

cant say will miss them....an over rated Beatles rip off, tho very good, tribute act with the melodies etc...Fair dues to Noel tho, good song writer( NOT Great)... and as for liam, he should take a leaf out the Who"s roger daltrey"s book (dead fit in his day) and actually try MOVING a little on stage... The number of times id watch and think" High mike, singing up too, hands clasped behind back... Again!"...And an absolute moron to boot, tho with a half decent voice ...Should a got a REAL master on stage fronting the band..So, Good riddence.

A couple of years ago I visited Daltreys salmon lodges. What a change from his music and acting career.Keith Moon was in my opinion the best British rock drummer of all time.Jeff Porcaro(Toto) was the best American and featured on MJ s "Thriller " and "Bad " albums.
Back to topic,I wont miss Oasis.......tough guys my arse!
ps my email to you was returned as address not known. You are impossible to get hold of but I live in hope.LOL

Reggie I wasn't talking about your attitude to The Beatles. I said that 'I dare say to some people ..'. If you can see beyond your own point of view you'll appreciate that your view of Oasis -'parochial', 'lacking intelligence' - could equally apply to The Beatles but you're more generous where the Beatles are concerned because i'm supposing the Beatles are your era where Oasis aren't.
You don't like Oasis' music, fair enough, but it appears to me that you've gone out of your way to take against them on the basis of their appearance, the way they talk, and what they say or don't say. Why put this extra effort in unless you're indulging some prejudice or another ?

I've read the above three and I'm honestly trying to be non-partisan.
But J, you seem unable or unwilling to allow a different POV than your
own. If you disagree, that's fine- but you then seem to take it
personally, and make assumptions about the poster you happen to
disagree with at the time, almost to the point of petty insult. You're
better than that.
Sometimes here, we can be inconsistent, or flippant, or just lazy. I've
certainly been guilty of all three on [several.... ] occasions.
We ALL have prejudices; either from conviction or ignorance.
You are certainly not immune : -)

D/L has also hit the industry quite heavily.
