I think you're mixed up, Dick. A lot of Scots, Welsh and Irish blame the 'anglo-saxons' for their ills while looking up to the French, but lets remember who's been leading the anglo-saxons on this isle since 1066. Most of the aristocracy and royalty in Britain over the last 1000 years is of Frankish/Norman (mainlanders in the case of royalty) descent and thus foreign policy has been heavily influenced by them.
