This interview is classic. So Vince ran on a platform of no cuts, had changed his mind two days after the election to have cuts and would have changed his party's policy WITHIN DAYS if elected in a majority, and was still talking to Labour, who had a no cuts policy, about a possible coalition days after this supposed change of mind that made him realise 6bn of cuts were necessary... what bullshit.

Watch and make your own mind up

What a fucking joke politician he is. Basically chopped himself off at the knees by being unable to keep his fat mouth shut.

A massive ego, full of his own self-importance and he's just found out just how vital he really is. After bragging that he has "nuclear weapons" and could bring the government down, he finds himself undermined by his own gob, losing powers in his own department because he shot his mouth off about "going to war" with Rupert Murdoch.

How Cameron hasn't sacked him I don't quite understand. The guy was a liability to his party in opposition, flip flopping like a fish on a windowsill, and has been a joke in the government.

I do find it quite amusing, but if this is the calibre of politician we have to put up with thesedays, we're fucked.

Like Cleggie, Cable is Cameron and Osborne's poodle.

Osborne takes the piss out of Cable by giving him the role of Business Secretary - a department that Cable campaigned for its closure before the election on the grounds that it had so little power.

They let him off the lead at the Lib Dem COnference where he made a speech hammering bankers. But do they allow him to do anything to the bankers? No they dont. Not that the Labour party were any better.

And now he gets caught saying "he has declared war on Murdoch" to a Telegraph reporter playing the part of a submissive, giggly, girlish constituent ostensibly wanting to ask him about child benefit.

So he gets his bottom spanked and unlike any Tory cabinet minister in a similar position doesnt get the push.

Why?

Because the Lib Dems are the hapless, power hungry idiots fronting up the most right wing government in my lifetime and they are needed by Cameron and Osborne to take the bullets.

Thats why Clegg has looked increasingly depressed - the life of a dog on a short lead is not a happy one.

Thats why Ed Miliband said the government is more aptly called the "Tory led government" rather than the Lib Dem Con coalition because that is what it is.

Cheers

I think crusading for the people is a thankless job. If you can do this and still crusade for the people then you are a genuine person.

It must be a life long fight to do the right thing in politics whan you can see what doidgy things MPs are up to first hand.

These are the same people that will stab you in the back and paint your name with mud just to deflect attention away from their actions but hey..thats politics all over and thats the way I see it.
I do beleive there are good people in politics and refuse to believe they are all out for themselves.

Sad to say but no one rises to power out of respect for crusading for the common man. Its crusading for the interests of the rich is where these people get their votes into power and their egos stroked
