I find some of Clark's latest stuff a bit too much on the fetish side, but his older titles I believe far surpassd what Rocco did both on the heat and technical side. Clark seems to enjoy women and adores them, and does not do the kind of mysogynist things that Rocco does even though at the beginning of practically every scene Rocco pretends and says he finds a certain girl pretty, seems to be very attentive and charming, but then quickly goes into rough overdrive. Unfortunately Clark lackes what Rocco has--a bigger dick.
But if he liked a girl, Clark would often screw her for hours and not be too rough with them. Even when he lets others fuck a pretty girl that catches his eye, his camera work is always excellent and catches the action well. But his sex scenes with Deborah Wells were probably the dullest I ever seen, and they were a couple off-screen. They showed no real sizzle on screen, for whatever reason.
Zampa just looks disgusting, dirty and unwashed, even more than Ron Jeremy. He (nearly) always portrays sleazy characters, and it is tough to get stimulated or aroused by a scene he is in, no matter what he does. Denis Marti, Mick Blue, Csoki Ice, Steve Holmes, David Perry and others are more pleasant to look at and they do not seem to engage in over the top rough sex (although Holmes sometimes pushes the limits).
Tom Byron, Lex Steel, Peter North have been around a long time, are quite quite famous and sucessful and even have their own production companies and they do not need to resort to the kind of antics Rocco, Max, Nacho Vidal believe they need to resort to make themselves known. If Lex did the kind of things Rocco did, would he be as popular/financially successful, and would his stuff really sell, and where would his fan base be?

As you can see from my recent posts I've been revisiting Clark's
earlier stuff and it's very enjoyable. I'm glad you agree about the
'vibe'- and I agree about his dick- although maybe if he'd been
differently-endowed he'd have ended up like Rocco : -)
Re other males- if producers spent more time recruiting decent
males porn would be all the better for it.

Apart from all this criticism that falls a bit (14 years) late, I, on my part, love this film. I love to see 'unattractive' men and explicit or implied 'abuse' of women in pornography. If I wanted to see good-looking guys and vanilla sex, I would sure turn to labels such as Bel Ami and Vivid. This stuff is all about fantasy and 'make believe', which eventually brings us to the question: Faut-il br?ler Sade? The rest is just technicality...
Did anybody also notice that Letizia's lines are dubbed? In the only threesome scene where there is no Italian female participant (photo shoot scene), Rocco talks to her in French. !happy!

People still offer critiques of 'Citizen Kane', 70 years after the
event : -))

I don't think I [or Len?] necessarily disagree with that; it's the
manner of execution of it that we're more critical of.

A bit late?
The movie was released in 1995. I did not even own a computer at the time, and internet was just beginning to take hold. EGAFD did not exist until many years later. I did not get my hands on this movie until very recently. I did not even realize what version I had. Does this mean it is no longer politically correct to comment on films made 5-10-15-20 years ago? Does that mean you cannot be critical of the Siffredi "oeuvre" or this movie in particular?
Of the postings I have read in this forum, most concentrate on the bare essential facts: title, cast, ID of performers, screencaps, etc. There are not that many posts that provide a real deep analysis or criticism of movies.
I don't care for "vanilla" sex present in such movies made by Vivid, Wicked, Adam & Eve and the like. What I dislike is the type of sex scenes where the female performers are degraded and treated like a piece of meat. And I don't even want to hear "they know what they are getting into" and that "they were paid for what they did". Sex and pornography are supposed to provide fantasy and stimilus/arousal. I can hardly find arousing in a mainstream sex film, a male who spits into a woman's mouth, chokes her, slaps her, pees on her face, trashes her around, sticks her head in a toilet bowl, make him lick his anus, suck his toes. Such acts should be better relegated to extreme fetish tapes. It's degrading, disgusting and non-erotic. No doubt there is a market for this, but if porn filmakers wish to only show this facet of their personalities or what they think their fans crave for, then they should do that as "specialty" tapes (like fisting, scat, bestiality, vomit, and such, that the Japanese, German and Brazilians seem to excel in).
One has to wonder why Rocco did not do this at the time he was working for several French (VMD) and US companies in the late 1980's and early 1990's. When he decided to direct his own stuff, was he trying to outgross Max and Rob Black? Was he trying to corner the market? Was it something deep in his heart he liked to do, was it a commercial decision?
Was he able to finally give vent to his darker side? He says he loves women, but it is obvious in looking at this and other films, that the contrary would be true.
Do I like MAI DIRE MAI A ROCCO? It's passable, but no great work of art. Like I said the notoriety for this film is that it contains 3 brief g/s showers and that Perla was apparently from a well-to-do-family and when her folks found about about her porn appearance, they quickly yanked her out. If you remove that from this movie, you're really left with just a run of the mill porn movie of the mid 1990's.
With regards to Letizia, I took another quick look at Part I in which she speaks. I do not know what her real nationality is or what languages she spoke during her porn career. In this movie she is speaking Italian (with a slight accent, but clearly understandable) and does not appear to be dubbed, and the audio seems to be direct. The only time I heard something different was when Monica and Perla were in the car with Rocco. It is evident Monica does not speak Italian, she said very little and sometimes a few snatches of French words were said to her. The other foreign language heard is from the black guys during the bukkakke scenes (and sometimes those lines seem to have been looped, because you keep hearing them over and over).

Shame on you! !happy!
Late D'Amato once said "As an Italian, when I go abroad, I get proud of two things: Ferrari cars and Rocco Siffredi."

I simply and thoroughly disagree with you. Period.

She is from Romandie.
Well, I was not sure whether her lines were dubbed but at the end of the boxing ring sequence with Rocco, her talking voice was not echoing as loud as Rocco's, which made me suspicious. It is likely that she has some command of Italian but why does Rocco talk to her in French in the photo shoot scene? On the other hand, all she says to Monica there is "Tien! Tien!"

Well, well...Do you recall these words sir?
"Spitting [almost always], slapping [usually] and general degradation
[often] are simply unerotic- and therefore ought to have no place
in mainstream porno."
And here comes the funniest part:
"People who find this sort of thing appealing
usually have problems interacting with real females or have had
troublesome pasts with women."
!drink!

I don't know what "Romandie" means, and IAFD indicates she was born in Switzerland.. I still am clueless as to her ethnicity, or what language she was fluent in. If she lived in Switzerland for a time, she would very likely know French (and quite possibly Italian, as many Swiss do).
In any event, in the film MAI DIRE MAI A ROCCO, Letizia is clearly speaking Italian. She has a slight accent, does not appear to be reading from cue cards, so I would suppose she had a fair command of Italian at the time.
I have returned the movie to my archives, so I cannot recheck right now. But from memory during the photo shoot scene, Gabriel Zero (what does he do besides appearing in Rocco's movies?) speaks to her in English (he tells he to dance, if I recall corectly). I don't recall what was said when Letizia entered the scene as I was scanning the movie in f/w at the time. I can only guess that if Rocco is speaking French (only to Letizia?) at some point during the scene, it was for the benefit of Monica (who clearly did not know Italian). I believe Monica may have known some English (why else would Gabriel speak to her in English?), but perhaps Letizia did not. I believe I heard a few English words as well in the car scene between Rocco, Perla and Monica.

I don't see any real inconsistency.
For me it usually hinges on whether I get the sense that the
rough-housing is completely consensual- in many of the US
scenes I've watched it looks like the girl is getting rather more
than she bargained for. Subjective, I admit, but it's often a
tough call. Clearly, someone like Melissa Lauren [and who has
indeed publicly admitted it] who gets off on rough sex, I can
watch without the slightest qualm [although the bruises sometimes
make me shudder a little : -)]
The bracketed qualifications indicate how often I form a negative
impression. And I stand by my 'parlour psychoanalysis' of
people like Zampa.

So... no room for Lamborghini; the Uffizi; Venice; the food, the
music, the architecture; Sophia Loren; Visconti; the football
[although not the fans!]; the weather [sometimes]; the Amalfi
coast.....
and Joe Tomato would probably miscredit Rocco as 'Rocky Saffrone' : -))

It would be very boring if we all liked exactly the same thing : -)
