Fair point back John. We have set up a blog for those who are too show to register to view the forum but the real meat and potatoes are in there. The blog is a shop window

Spread the word is a good start.

I'll admit we havent marketed that well because most of us are not that web savvy but again, progress is being made in this area.

Ive always flown the flag on here.

The reason for registration is simply because we want to know who is using the site.

You dont have to be a member of UKAP to contribute. Its all voluntary anyway. We still get producers turn up to meetings who havent paid yet but we have to clamp down on that or get them to fork out towards the cost of the venues.

far cheaper to join plus you get two free tickets for your first party as a sweetener

Yo OEJ... Couldn't quite work out what you mean, as you put my name in your reply after mine please explain mate thanks :)
btw...
I've not got a gripe with anyone on UKAP (or here to add) to be honest i often forget UKAP is even there. After all i went to the 1st meeting at Doll Theatre as i was shooting stills for Doll Theatre at the time. My membership was revoked for not being a producer, and i guess thats fair enough in my book, its your rules or every tom dick and harry would be there.
I tend to tell a model a price on the solo shoots i wish to book them on. But on B/G i will ask the model for rates as if model A comes back cheaper than model B then thats who i'll book. But i'll add that asking a model ?150 for anal is a piss take! I pay more for solo with toys.

Hi Gi

Wasnt having a pop at you. I thought you was a producer. You book girls the same as us. You make money and have a website so are trying to make a living from it so therefore you are a producer right?

If so you fit the criteria to join.

We dont feel casual hobbyists would benefit from being members as they dont have to endure anyhting outside of enjoying their hobby, however they are more than welcome to sign up to the site and if they fit the criteria to join they are more than welcome to.

Another good reason to keep the numbers down is recently we booked a bigger venue and had that almost filled to capacity which is great but if it goes on the way it does we might have to have our own Erotica at Earls Court LOL. Ok that was an exaggeration and i dont think our party organiser would be too happy managing ticket sales for that venue

Thanks OEJ :)

And no i currently don't have a site, the 2 previous sites (one of those i shared with DT) i ran are dead.

So technically not a producer at this time.

How about the model asking other models what they charge?

When I first started, I emailed a few models and most were kind enough to get back to me and I set my prices somewhere in the middle.

If I was having a tight month, I might have taken slightly lower rates to pay the bills etc.

I'm not saying that I am perfect but Google is not the only way to find out what rates are being charged and that comment seems a little flippant.

Most new models I shoot find me from my web site, but what if the model doesn't know any other models, or where to find other porn models?
As for emailing models, well most of them don't reply even if you are offering them PAID work!
I'm not saying you are like this, but a lot of other models are!
I have no problem with girls setting their own rates or even lowering them when needs must, but I'm talking about new girls who don't know any better being exploited by people who do know better!

Why should we take offence on this occasion when we haven't all the other times you've taken the trouble to put this 'fan forum' in it's place?

Your habit of persistently describing / denigrating this place as a 'fan forum' is becoming irksome. The Promotions Forum IS, as anyone with half a brain cell will acknowledge, an industry forum. Hence, the many and varied posts by models, producers, distributors, webmasters, etc, offering work, looking for work, asking for help, giving support and so on...

It may annoy you that this forum is the first port-of-call for many wouldbe models / producers but please try and respect the fact that it does actually provide a service for many in the industry. We don't object to your promoting of UKAP - this is the Promotions Forum after all - but what we can't accept is your repeated distortion of what this forum is and who it serves.

Merry Xmas.
