Hislop should spend more time knocking Private Eye into better shape and Merton's on autopilot these days. I suppose the money's good, but HIGNFY has been pretty much toothless since Deayton's stupid dismissal. A show that once brilliantly ridiculed archaic attitudes found itself victim to one of the most archaic of all - that part of the BBC that still lives in the 50's.

Having said that, and while admitting that Merton is on autopilot and Hislop can be a smug little sod, it was good to see Neil Kinnock suffering in last night's show.

I reckon that Dick and Dom from ?Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow? have to beat the Chuckle Brothers hands down, certainly Dick is well named and I would not recommend watching them on a Saturday morning with a hangover unless you are planning on buying a new TV.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde aint very clever either FWIW.

But how about some Decent Double Acts who when going solo weren?t funny but paired with their partner instantly became hilarious:
Laurel and Hardy
Abbott and Costello
AND my personal faves Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder who when together are funny as it gets.

Please Ace no Terry and Lampard stuff!!
