I agree to an extent, but maybe it's a chicken & egg situation.

Do the Police target non-whites more because non-whites commit more crime (proportionately), or are more non-white crimes on record because of the targeting specificity of non-whites?

A bearded Muslim guy is going to be a bigger suspect of carrying a bomb than a white guy because of previous experience. A copper looking for suspects of a racist attack on a Sikh will question the white skin-headed guy with tattoos before the Asian youth in the same area.

We all prejudge people from previous experience because that's what keeps us alive. (rightly or wrongly)

I'm sorry to hear that. There can't have been much evidence. Lack of evidence suggests no crime -though that's not definite of course- and there are enough people who could make lots of money out of such a case for no one to be interested in prosecuting, given the chance.

The stop and search figures tend to speak for themselves. The sad thing is that this does impact the crime figures, as the more people you stop, the more drugs and knives you'll find. So if you stop more black people, you'll end up with more black people charged for drugs/weapons. This story seems to reappear every year without fail, before and since 9/11.

Quite a few people have died in police custody - to my knowledge not a single prosecution has ever happened, even where the inquest rules unlawful killing.
