The sad thing is that more people in this country tune in to BB to see if some person they don't know, and probably would hate if they did know them, is snogging/dissing/sleeping with another person they don't know and would probably hate than tune into news programmes to hear about real issues and problems facing real people elsewhere in the country and around the world.

If it bugs you, then don't watch those shows; boycott those papers that carry ridiculous coverage of them.

Sadly, I can only state my opinion (and I have seen enough of the shows to form an opinion) that they are a pile of dingo's droppings, and the people who appear on them are sad, desperate wannabes who want the fame without actually doing anything creative to achieve it.

Only my opinion, mind. Other people love the shows, and it's quite possible/probable that I am wrong.

LOL

Have you read some of the weekly gossip/celeb mags about, utter fucking tripe. I saw some a couple of weeks ago, talking about the celebs diets, how they look thin or fat, what colour lipstick/cologne they prefer, who the did or didnt take with them to the restaurant.

Like for FUCKS SAKE, is that shit even important/relevant to our existance, cause not, it's just utter drivelous SHITE to feed the masses, something to believe the celebs are better than them at (or the celebs are the same as the masses, whichever you believe).

The ratings the state, suggest more people watch that shit now than previously.

I used to watch some of the first few series, but after the beginning of the 3rd series, I got so fucking bored, "same shit, different faces", look at the people they have on there now, every1 of them a social reject.

As my previous statement in this post, totally correct.

Having watched a fair bit of the big brother phenomenon in the early years I agree

Nothing more than a laboratory experiment on humans

Cheap TV means bigger profits

With the rise of pay TV it was inevitable that free to air would suffer

Who knows if the reality phase will burn out

I know the format all to well....hairdressers,doctors rooms etc

Quite amazing about how many their actually are which might explain why the term celebrity really just means,in the publics eye

They pay me?

At best its a rental paid for by a friend...lol

Especially when you consider all the bargains floating about
all be them using old formats and featuring no extras usually

3 dvds like the green mile, last of the mohicans & the shawshank redemption for 10 dollars less...a no brainer as they say

Yeah, if there is a specific film I'm after, I am not in the mood to pay the exhorbitant prices some places charge, I'll wait 6 months or so, then hit the Discount stores, Flea Markets, Charity Shops, Ex-Rental Stockists, & get what I was after, for a mere pittance, LOL.

Nothing wrong with shopping smart

If you can resist the urge to splurge its well worth it

I'd almost say the formula is something like

Watch it on the big screen
Rent it for the home view several times
Join a group of said film mainly to discover whats on the NEW double disc sets etc

Buy it when the FINAL special edition/directors cut is released

I've been caught with my pants down far to often by buying on impulse
