Sorry, Peter, but saying "I could kill for a pint" is in no way the same as declaring "You're a certainty for a huge compensation payout everytime you don't get a top job." and you know it.
you went into 'wazzer' mode, and tried to win on a technicality by applying strict dictionary definitions to real world usage.
What, the technicalities that it's definitely NOT certain and DOESN'T happen everytime, or even half the time, or even a quarter of the time, or -now I'm assuming here- since I've never heard of ANY case via the media where a black/brown/yellow person has successfully sued anyone just because they 'didn't get the job' then I'd assume it's very very rare indeed?
And this legislation, Ms. Harman seems to have her heart set on, may come into being, these 'technicalities' I'm supposedly winning on are very important to fight this discriminatory plan! I'm against it, and anyone who supports the plan will be argued with, on here, by me, with technicalities and truth galore!
What you said wasn't 'everyday speech', but a lie on an important, emotive subject. Did you lie on purpose, or are you just ill-informed?
I bet you're a real barrel of fun
That cute little Geordie lass I brought home last night thought so. Dirty cow...
