Think you misunderstand, Lizard. Another forum doesn't give anyone a platform---it's somewhere that people can talk. Literature, football, music, comedy, politics, whatever.

This place had become almost a point-scoring arena. I like to talk, to argue, to debate, but if I'm wrong---and I see that I am wrong---I'll hold my hands up and say, "I got it wrong." Some folk are so utterly right about everything it makes you sick---even when you know they know they're wrong. Some play to the crowd, become the darling of the tattooed knuckle brigade; some push their weird theoriesand neuroses; some inflict on the rest of us their darkest sexual desires.

If we could assure everyone was as good-natured as Steve56, as reasonable as Diplodocus or as welcoming as Buttsie, this would be a less hostile environment. One thing all three of them have in common---they're not interested in taking part in a pissing contest.

An invitation was sent, you have rejected it in no uncertain terms, and while I don't agree with the thinking behind your decision I certainly respect your right to make that decision. Hope you have got in touch with Magoo (via jj). He is keen to talk to you, and misses the banter you guys, Buttsie, Holden and jj used to indulge in. Take care.

Caradog mate, I agree with Lizard entirely- it was the Scottish one who did all the point-scoring; and made this place untenable for many many people.

I didn't notice that nedland requires 'all five moderators' approval before you can post- but I can't say it is surprising with the ned involved. What does shock me- as I have said- are the good people putting up with that crap.

I'd agree with that wholeheartedly. He definitely caused havoc and mayhem. But we can all cause havoc can't we? Didn't everyone who contributed on last years Killagram vendetta cause havoc? Didn't mine and Maggoo's arguments cause havoc? Didn't Mike Freeman's wishes on the age of consent cause havoc?

We can all cause havoc, Liz, and it's mostly just because somebody disagrees with somebody else, that's all. What worries me more is what doesn't cause havoc; i.e. Racism, homophobia, and threats of violence from armchair 'hooligans' (you've been away a while and missed a lot of it).

If you don't like Wazza then that's your decision. I just think that when people congregate anywhere in numbers they like a target to demonise. It's human nature and Wazza became their demon. We're all guilty of it at one time or another; as soon as Wazza was emancipated, quite a few looked for another target: that was me. Why? Because I agreed with Wazza on the odd subject now & again: how convenient for them. Next it was Dibble; he was set up as a troll - I mean, has Dibble ever come on here to post emotive subjects just to get a reaction? No, no, no.....

It's nothing to do with intellect, Liz. It was first formed by Jacques to replace the fantasy footy forum which gets closed in the off-season. Jacques' made a real good job of it and so it's grown into a place where we can let off steam, or talk about stuff that will give the mods on here a headache deleting! They don't want that hassle of constantly clearing up after us, and no one likes their posts being constantly deleted, so an alternative forum is good for us both. We all agreed you'd be a good poster and funny to have around and so we invited you. You and Mags together would once again have lit the place up with your witticisms, and I'm gutted you've decided it's not for you. Jacques certainly hasn't gone to all the hassle of building a forum just to give Wazza a platform!

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know my view on it. Take it how you will !happy!

And only today, it was 'that ned' that is the most lenient in deciding on such matters.

Wazza may argue and infuriate, but he'd be one of the last to deny someone their right to express their views.

Dibble did come on here at least once to deliberately wind people up. I recognised that and called him a troll. He understood the fact I was winding up the winder up and made no complaint.

But then others jumped in and started putting their oar in. They were entitled to do that. But I don't remember Dibble- a fair if rumbustious sort- joining them.

The fact that people could not see the tongue in cheek action of Dibbs' post and of my reply was the 'final' straw for me. So I left, but am back now. I think the people on here now can give and take a joke...

Incidentally, Dibbs is one of the few people that I email off this site.

The rights & wrongs weren't why I brought it up, Carac. Just wanted to point out that everyone likes a target.....killagram, chrisd, phototaker, olay, mike freeman.....etc etc. I've been involved in a few of the above.

We're all guilty at one time or another: that was my point.
