"your mission is this:
Infiltrate forums and give the impression that all agents and followers of New Labour are a bunch of know-it-all, finger wagging, nannying despots"
Jeez, Jimbo, you were congratulating me on my slagging off of Jacqui Smith earlier in the week! Make ya mind up.
Anyway, here's my suggestion
1. Read your post again.
2. Consider whether you are getting a teensy, weensy, little bit obsessed with me?
It would seem so.
Cheers

I like David Johnson and dont care if I'm liked any less for it because I think the man talks sense and I think he is one of the few around here who seems to actually care about his fellow man plus he has corrected me a few times and I dont mind that because I dont always get it right and not for one moment on any post on the BGAFD have I ever thought he was a sanctimonious self righteous "asshole"
Not that David needs it but I got his back on this
I feel that most people around here forget the millions of those who are suffering for the few bad ones creaming off the top and see this as a cynical excuse not to help.
I couldnt give a hoot about being popular around here (unlike some) and would say the same thing to your face in public as I would here on this forum. Dont beleive me? Then try me!
This place is fast becoming like that beer and bollocks site. Lots talk shit there but wont back it up to your face and appear nice to your face then trivialise it all like it was a fun thing to "wind you up" then get all upset and try and reverse it on you like you are the bad guy
It seems to me that Davids apparent unpopularity is due to the fact he cares and it seems ok for everyone to agree with things that involve hatred and negativity and it seems it is the in thing to be rude to people these days whose opinions differ from your own.
For al lthe shit thrown at him David hasnt resorted to the same vitriol as his attackers. he might wel be Jesus Christ for it Jim.
Just listen to yourselves or read these posts and you'll see why I arrived at this conclusion
SAYITREAL maybe saying it for those who aint saying it (not sure where he gets that impression he is speaking for the silent masses at all) but he aint saying it for me when I can say it for myself. If you aint saying it like SAYITREAL then you are spineless if you need someone like him to say it for you
Looks to me that Davids unpopularity makes you all look like pack hunters bullying him mob handed because he has different views from you

Btw SayItReal, when you say that you did all this work, were you paid to do it or did you do it for charity?
Either way, I dont see it as giving you authority over Davids view because it opposes yours.
If thats the case then why arent people campaigning against the government and simply refuse to donate money? Or are we to say that people who donate money to charities are be idiots as well.
I have donated money to charities in recent years and well aware of corruption going on but the thought behinfd this to me is that some of or most of it will get through and do some good, not because of feeling self righteous but because it pains me to see all those people suffering, starving with children dying in their arms knowing that I wouldn't really miss ?10 or ?20 that I would easily spend on a night in my local cinema guzzling popcorn
I think its called a conscience.
I dont mind you differing in opinion to Mr Johnson but you dont have to be so rude to him and call him an "arse hole". Thats really unneccesary

Hi OEJ
Thanks for this.
Obviously, everyone is welcome to express their views.
However, I do find that discussions on this forum can sometimes follow a pattern.
1. I or another forumite makes a point.
2. I come back at some stage with some questions/observations.
3. Some posters seem to believe that being asked to explain/defend their views is an outright insult.
4. I then point out that they haven't replied to the comments I've made about their views.
5. Cue stream of insults. How dare this bloke ask me questions I don't appear to be able to answer?
Obviously this isn't all one-sided. I am a determined debater. I am keen to get my points across and I do not turn the other cheek.
So when someone calls me a "cunt" on here or carries out a sustained campaign against me, then rather than call them a "cunt" in return, I tend to take the piss out of them, be condescending towards them or try to run rings around them.
This then makes them even angrier. !happy!
However I think this is preferable to just turning the other cheek and ignoring the insult.
