Anyway, read up on ISO 8601. We officially adopted this standard since at least 1992, replacing the old BS7151:87.

ISO 8601 denotes 1BC as year zero. Thus, the official millennium celebration was indeed 2000-01-01.

I like it how I'm the pedant when it was you and Steve that came out with the first attempts at pedantry re the now archaic Anno Domini millennium. It's never pedantry when it's you doing the correcting!
