Bill Bryson?

I find his books just skim the top of subjects, and there's no depth at all. He leaves so much unaccounted for and as such, he cheats the reader, or at least gives the impression the reader would be unable to understand more. The patronising bastard.

I mean, there are other, better writers of the sciences that makes me wonder why anyone would purchase a book written by this guy. He just writes to sell, and his readers are obviously dim witted enough to think they're actually learning something useful, and understanding, rather than just collecting a few facts to make them seem more knowledgeable.

I mean.................come one!

I love Bryson's writing. Haven't read the Thunderbolt Kid, but I will.

The first few pages of Notes From A Small Island are wonderful.
