If you are a webmaster and you are in Europe and are using CCBill they do not charge the $750 fee. I think they get around this by saying you are a client of CCBill EU, their "European" company. This European company uses European bank processor and they do not charge this fee.

The $750 fee is charged by Visa USA to it's American comapnies.

However, to squeeze more out of us, CCBill did increase their fees by 1% (to I think 14.5%) for its European customers.

I think it is only a matter of time before Visa Europe either charge this fee, or the likes of CCBill and IBill etc are also forced out of business in the same way Globill and others have been.

And then the whole adult internet industry is up shit creek without a paddle (or even worse I think we don't even have the boat!!)

Layla and others...

It is only Visa USA that insist on the $750 then $350 a year and that affects only US based companies. Visa International of which Visa EU is part of are not currently charging these fees.

AC Pay/EGS and GloBill opened EU companies so that even their US webmasters could avoid the fee. It seems that VIsa USA clamped down on this loop hole as they are still US based companies and you've seen what's happened. CCBill opened a EU based company for Euro webmasters as the Visa regulations don't allow for non US based companies to have their cards processed there. You now have to live or have a company in the area in which cards are processed. An Australian friend of mine had to form a company in Wyoming as no processors will work with his part of the world.. Webmasters in Canada are in the worst position of all as they are not recognised by Visa USA who say they are part of Visa Worldwide and Visa worldwide says they're part of Visa USA so they can't accept the card on any sites at all.

Tomsk..

Paycom/Epoch the biggest.. What planet are you on.. They have just had a massive fine from Visa. In 2001 they were very slow at paying and it was the talk at Internext at both the Jan and June shows.. They are currently planning to take legal action again Visa so I wouldn't trust them to stay around for the long term at all.

I don't know how many of you actually visit any webmaster forums but I am active on a few of them as that's where you'll find the correct and up to date news. At the moment it looks like AC Pay, which changed it's name to EGS very recently, will be sold to another processor but it's not looking good for many of us who use them and we are long term Adult Check webmasters who had faith in everything they launched but it's not their fault, GloBills or WSB who went out of business recently.... It's the damn Ashcroft putting pressure on Visa and MasterCard as the Bush admin is vehemently anti porn no matter how many billions of dollars the US government collects in taxes from it.

Another avs, Cyber Age also have a card processing company called "Clear Card" but I don't know how they are getting on as I tried to sign up with them when they first started and their sales team sucked so I dropped the idea and that was after one of CA's head honcho's asked me as a friend to try them out..

I think it's more likely that Visa is using the convenience of political rhetoric to make money.

A little like how the recent adventures in Iraq make money for oil companies.
