next 5 years

What do we think the business will be like in five years time.

I believe we have reached a stage when we are just chasing round in circles, all of us producing very similar items. I firmly believe that print is nearly a dead medium and the internet is just going to drain the industry in the end.

Any views

I believe that where we are now is just the tip of iceberg, the adult industry is expanding and becoming less taboo.

5 years ago it would have been impossible to get magazines such as Cosmo writing about adult films. It is now very common.

I would like to think the business will become far more professional over the next 5 years. I hope quality will continue to improve as it clearly has over the last five years.

It would be great to rid the industry of all the scoundrels (I love that word) out there ripping people off.

However more than anything else I would like to see the R18 issue dealt with. With the opening of the European market place R18 no longer has a place. It is mearly an unfair additional cost to be absorbed by filmmakers or distributors, and I think both would agree that money could be spent so many better ways.

Those are a couple of my views!

I agree with your points, my main concern is that it becomes completley "flat lining" due to the over exposure of porn etc. after all teenagers, via the internet have all the porn at their finger tips, unlike myself at that age, I am 38 now, when it was the odd men only or mayfair mag etc. I feel by the time these guys and girls are mid 20's they will have porn burn out due to ease of getting it ?

Porn is gonna become more mainstream. The attitude to porn over the last 10 years has really mellowed, look at the last 30 years and there has been a really big change in attitude.

Yes the internet gives people access to it but people are still gonna want 'hard copy' whether that be print or DVD. It gives the porn a portability. You take it where you want it.

Long term the net will change things but more access will mean more demand. I guess the worrying side will be that the softening of public opinion will mean the hardening of the porn - how far will the market drive the industry to go???

The real reflection of the UK porn industry is found in the local newsagent. 8 years ago they were airbrushing out anuses, now we have cumshots & penetration, what is the next step??

....I think it'll be sort of round and squidgy, and a bit orangey in colour.

With little dimples.

I think with the discovery of water on mars that we will see more alien sex in films.

oh! and since health has apparently become the new religion, more tantric sex too.

the next development will surely be the "hardening" of the channels such as tvx and adult channel

I've had sex with quite a few aliens- usually when drunk, of course.
Funny, they always seem like humans the night before.............
