I was planning on buying 7 the Hard Way 2 for my boyfriend who loves Alicia Rhodes. I found it very cheap on a US web site will this get stopped by customs coming into the UK?

I have just had some software delived from US and that was opened plus I was presented with import and VAT to the sum of ?42.00. The software was just a boxed backup to what was downloaded off the web. I suggest you contact the company and ask if the shipping includes import taxes and VAT doubtful though.

The chances are that a package containing one DVD won't even be opened. If it is, then the chances are that one DVD won't be valuable enough to bother charging you for. I haven't seen that title, but I would guess it would be OK if watched.

The best way to get DVDs delivered from the States is by having them sent by US Priority Letter, i.e. with the artwork but without the case. Five Star DVD will ship this way, though any more than two in the package and they might open to see if they can charge you VAT etc. I think they sometimes go by weight. A single case will cost about a quid at HMV. But I can't remember ordering a single DVD with case that has been stopped and opened.

Of course, no guarantees in the above.

Try;
http://www.dv-depot.com/

They lie about the value and contents of the packages on the customs declaration

So far no problems ever from ordering from the US. Now is the best time with the low dollar to import. Use the sites that send the DVD disc and the cover separately (you have to get your own DVD box).
