I am all for using condoms because even 30 day testing will not stop the risk of passing on other STDs. They may well be spotted more quickly but can be passed on in the meantime. There is also the problem for those of us not living near London of finding somehwhere (other than the local GUM clinic) to do the tests.

This is a very difficult issue - one with which I don't really lean towards any particular side...
The main problem at the moment is the fact that the "certification" issue is now somewhat clouded - there's no clarity. 3 months has until now been the industry standard for any producer I've worked for. But now we're seeing some calling for 30 day certs, some models refusing to work with a model outside of the 30 day testing window.
I agree that 3 months is a mighty long time - but then, so is 30 days... I don't disagree with the notion that 30 days is better than 90 days - but I do think the whole issue needs standardising.
On top of that - as Libby says - there are problems for some of us based outside of London - the testing/certification infra-structure just doesn't exist outside of the capital city. My own health authority will not provide me with a certificate "at any cost" - yes, I can have the test, but NO, you can't have the certificate at any price - they just will not issue one! On top of that, some of us males are getting work rather infrequently - I often go a month or more without a shoot and that could turn the certification issue into a financial loss for myself and no doubt many other guys in the industry.
On the subject of condoms - again, I'm not against the use, but at the same time, I can't say that I'd find the finished product particularly inspiring...
JFT has opened a can of worms - and that's GOOD - but lets hope that it results in a clear industry standard SOONER rather than later!

I do concur with Jack here.. It is a little bit unclear in what to do. If I was working every month I would very happily get tested every 30 days.. But unfortunately work for me is just does not come in regularly I just don't know when I could be called for a job..
As I Live down here in Devon getting to London just for a test will cost me a fortune every month..
I shall like everyone else will be watching closely on this subject..

Ideally it needs all performers to be tested, only work with other tested performers, and most importantly, not shag around having (especially unprotected) sex outside the "chosen few".
The passing of any infection could them be reduced to virtually nil.

Human nature being what it is, consider this:
If anyone in the porn biz tells me they use condoms with their partners 100% I will call them a liar.
Ergo, we all make judgements as to who is "safe" and act acordingly where sex is concerned.
A "stiff prick has no conscience" is a very old truism. It applies equally well to females.
There is NO 100% guarantee unless you are a member of a very tiny minority.
HOWEVER, on an upbeat, I can say that I personally do not know of a case of AIDS this side of the Atlantic directly attributable to the porn biz (in the last 20 yrs). Ignorance abounds and indeed I was asked by a highly intelligent lady, two days ago, to please explain the ramifications and particularly, could one transmit by kissing.

The concept of 30 day testing is great but the fact is were just not geared up in this country, as the guys have said travelling to London from the provinces, as your local gum wont play ball, can cost ?50/60 plus the cost of hiv/std test at Medicentre about ?260 youve got to do a lot of work per month to justify overheads like that.
It takes at least a fortnight to get an appointment at a gum clinic and then a two week wait for the result, theres your 30 days gone! the ideal solution would be for gum clinics to offer a system where you pay a reasonable fee for an enhanced service, after all the NHS picks the tab up if you catch a nasty!!

Pornography is not about being safe, the same as when we used to shoot porn in UK break all the laws and supply you guys. May you mind up what do you want porn or plastic crap. (rubber as the case may be) I have it, lets use rubber dolls and guys with strap-ons that will make it safe.
If someone tells me porn can be made with condoms they don't understand porn..Condoms are a compromise and like most producers I don't want to compromise I want to bring it to the punter the way he wants it.
So can I please establish first of all who can give me a guarantee they are clean right now,,please be truthfull now this is a simple test. who can hand on heart say without fear they are clean.
