Its a shame but like any person working in the face of danger you must never forget about the risks.

One persons error could be costly to others. This applys to alot of jobs not just porn.

The dangers are there and they are real. HIV is a life sentance and a terrible disease. No method of protection is 100% and no amount of regular tests are 100%. As humans we are prone to errors and this applys to bricklayers and even top medical staff. Things can be overlooked or misread and the ramifications are deadly.

Its a dangerous world we live in and if we live by the sword we usally die by it aswell.

The best way to keep things like that under control is no cross contamination. Plain and simply no sex with US actors. Their industry is so large, and their models work so much, that they are far more likely to contract something. We dont have that many studs here in the uk to put it about like them. So less risky. But still a real threat.

Mmmmm, blanket rules are rarely the answer to a problem.

Being based in LA, I am a US actor. As a US based performer who took an AIM test just 2 days ago, this means that I have an HIV risk window of just 2 weeks.
But under your blanket rule, I would be banned from performing in the UK even though, compared to the current UK industry requirements for talent, my risk window is up to 22 weeks less.

Performers should not be the subject of blanket rules, stereotypes, categorisation etc... but should be evaluated on the basis of their actions, reputation and integrity as individuals.

I wonder if it has crossed your mind that upto 40% of the u.k actors and actresses work in Los Angeles every year, the statistics are probally higher.
Also that USA companys come to the U.K to shoot bringing there own talent.

Also a pcr hiv test used by Sharon Mitchell can trace HIV in 2 weeks in the U.K there is a window of 3 months.

Also that the test is not even a dna test in the UK as it is in the USA.

I hope this answers some of your questions as I know being involved in the industry for 7 years in America and the U.K.

There are some great companys in the uk aswell.

As soon as people start paying the right money for the talent all over the world, and stop trying to save money the industry will become safer.

Yes this was a stupid fucked up thing to happen, its just that in Brazil you can buy a HIV test for $10. aND THE GIRLS ARE MUCH CHEAPER.

I hope this mess gets sorted out and the industry can reurn to normal.
