Does anyone remember seeing Ben Dover on a lunchtime show called, if i remember correctly, The Garden Party?

I think it was a show back in the early nineties that replaced Pebble Mill and was presented by among others the gorgeous Debbie Greenwood who interviewed Ben about his James Bond collection.

Or was i hallucinating?

Bloody Hell!!!!!!!!! You are of course absolutely right, the secret's out, I have a hobby. That show was a long time ago I know that. I have a large collection of James Bond toys and memoribilia, and other stuff, Avengers, Man from U.N.C.L.E. etc, and I'm kind of an expert on James Bond, so I'm very boring to be around at social gatherings. I think I've got that tape somewhere, I might put it on the website for a laugh!!

Hi Ben Dover

just curious what you thought of the modern 007 movies, since the original Sean Connery and Roger Moore movies, personally I think Timothy Dalton was a better actor to play James Bond then Pierce Brosnan, he seemed to fit the part better
anyone think so?
I've been a fan of mainstream actress Maryam D'Abo since I saw her in The Living Daylights

Hey Ben,

Don't you think Oddjob should have worked for Blofeld? Then he could have been called Blojob ;-)

And to keep this on topic, wasn't Jilly Johnson in one of the crap Roger Moore ones? (I think she got run over.)

Onan

The Bond debate rages on for ever. With regard to actors I think it depends on the strength of the film. The living Daylights is one of my favourites too and I think Dalton did a great job, because it was a proper cold war Bond story, and graet direction, {I bumped in to him in the adult section of a video shop on Sunset Strip by the way, about 8 years ago. That was spooky] anyway I digress. TLD was a film that Brosnan could have done I think. I like him a lot, it's just that the films he's done don't do him justice. TN Dies was pretty good but what was TWINE all about? Robert Carlyle as a Bond villain. What were they playing at? He was CRAP and about as menacing as blancmange. I couldn't make sense of any plot at all frankly, but then it was directed by the bloke who did Gorillas in the mist. Dr No I think is the best for capturing the essence of JB as he was in the books; when he shoots Dent in the back you realise this guy is actually a ruthless killer. Superb, no big set pieces, just a right riveting yarn. Ahh well, back to porn. Pip! Pip!

One last one, Ben. If you had to pick one of the girls for your films as they were back then, who would it be? I'd go for Lois Chiles......
