Our girls leave themselves open to Scammers

I've read a lot recently about scammers and bogus producers etc, and it is always of concern, especially when it involves girls you know personally. BUT, one thing I will say, considering how easy it is to use our industry and our girls, I'm surprised it doesn't happen a lot more.

Really, everyone is a potential sex offender. The things girls in our industry will do can be quite mind blowing to the general public. If they were to ask women they know to do similar things they would risk a good slapping, but in exchange for a fairly small amount of money our girls will do the lot.

It is very easy for us who work in the industry to lose perspective on that. Most women would turn down tens of thousands for doing things our girls will do for a couple of hundred.

Most of our girls are publicly advertised as available for work, most with direct contact details, and most more than willing to go to jobs without doing even the vaguest checks, simply because they can't be bothered, or it might lose them a few quid. (and before anyone jumps down my throat I know it doesn't apply to all our girls, just a lot of them)

When Joe Public mails our girls asking for pictures of them, our girls send them by the sackful, so if it's that easy, why be surprised when the next step is them wanting the real thing?

I have been astounded over the years how uninterested some girls are in their own safety. As an ex bodyguard it horrifies me how some girls work. I actually had one girl laugh at my concern about a photographer, saying "I'm going to shoot deep thoating video for him, what's he going to do? Try and touch my tits?"

Make no mistake, I shall be speaking to our car salesman chappy about one of these matters, but with the open access set up of our industry, what does anyone really expect?

I get on average 4 emails a week from scammers. The funniest/weirdest one was this week, wondered if anyone else had it. A producer supposedly calling me from LA wanted to book me for a shoot in the UK, when I asked him if the performers would have STD certs he said no, they are too easy to fake, instead, he has a special instant STD testing machine he would bring to the shoot, all you do is put your finger in it and bingo! instant full STD screening! MAGIC.

Once I had stopped laughing, I told him not to bother contacting me again.

I think any girl who believes she has a scammer should contact legit sources to find out about it. Most photographers know of each other, and likewise I know one or two in the business, too, and I'm always happy to help.

Unfortunately, a lot of girls seem to listen to people who tell them what they want to hear.

"of course I can get you in FHM, I just need a little favour........"
