From the Indigo Clinic

Dear All,
we have been reading the posts about the rumours of someone in the Industry being tested HIVpositive. As many of you have pointed out, the Indigo Clinic cannot pass on specific information or peoples details as the confidentiality of clients is protected by law.

However, now that this has become an issue, we will confirm that we have had a performer test HIV positive. We are attemting to contact ONE person in the Industry who we believe MAY be at risk from this performer. We cannot pass on the name of the person who has HIV or the contact.

Please be assured that we are working very hard to deal with this situation and have been doing what we can to limit the problem.

We would like to emphasise (as we do to everyone who attends this clinic) that it is important that performers see UP-TO-DATE certificates from reputable clinics before they work. It has been pointed out on the thread that certificates are never going to be accurate as people are always in the Window Period - this is why monthly checks are so important as this at least cuts down the amount of time someone may have been positive before they find out.
If anyone wants to arrange an HIV test please contact us on 020 8846 1579
and mention the Indigo Clinic

best wishes
Ceri
on behalf of the Indigo Clinic

Well I suppose it was inevitable that it would happen eventually.
The worry started back in my early modelling days way back in 1983. So it's taken 21 years for the first case (to my knowledge anyway) to happen. Thats an impressive span of time considering all the over the top alarm back then. Sympathies to the 'victim' of course but how do you control it if we don't even know his name. I presume the quarentine and investigation stuff is done by the clinic ?

The post at the bottom of this thread seems to indicate that it is a "he".

I should imagine that Indigo, are tracing possible 2nd and 3rd generation
persons, as AIM did in the US.

Not to long ago a HIV pos case emerged in the states, people were beating there chests, the guy from JFA whatever it is was posting every few seconds? it led to the emergence of Baiha?? which, to my knowledge, has come to nothing!! Everybody was running round like headless chickens, the posts were 30 or more strong. We get a case on our own doorstep and nobody seems to give a shit!! Perhaps somebody can enlighten me!

Have to say I have a similar feeling. I was expecting a little more information than we've received so far... Or is the information classified for the big fish only?

Should we be looking at halting production, or what??

At the time a 60 day Moratoriam was wideley supported by some people on this board, possibly because the feeling was the UK business could exploit the US misfortunes, now it's in the UK ...not a word!!.... Am I being cynical?
