HIV/STD certs

I've always made a point of picking up my certificate personally and having my ID details written on it by the health adviser. However it seems that a lot of people get the STD part of the certificate posted and have no trouble having it accepted.

I can see it makes sense because after all your name and DOB can be matched with the name ond DOB on the ID you will be providing anyway. Am I making unnecessary trips here?

Hi,

I always go and pick my tests up from the clinc.
It takes so long to get them in the post, by the time you finally get them if you get them at all you have to get tested again.

The indigo do a great job at the end of the day but they need a clinc like AIM in the USA.

I know there have been some talks about this but the question is what can we all do to make it better for us all????

I think you will find condoms would be used, so it is out of order to suggest it would put anyone at more of a risk.

As I said in my post on that topic I have filmed myself with a couple of girls who are listed on this site and they all used condoms and I wouldn't have asked otherwise.

I did have a conversion with one of the girls about this topic and she told me that girls who do porn films are very "health conscious". Much more so than other girls she told me.

I always go and get my cert form the clinic, and get my details written on it...Maybe its would be better if its was typed on?

I hear of so many diff clinics doing so many diff things. My clinic used to use photo copys till i asked for a proper printed one, the photo copy looked so like a duff one. I think if the guys and girls in teh industry work with people that are not Pro shall we say, they should be covered, but thats not always a guard against some nasties.

The only way to stop the nasties is to stop shagging...ummm..not gonna happen

The problem with the STI cert is that it takes 7 days to come back... the HIV can be tested for in a matter of minutes/hours - but the other STIs take longer to test for.

I used too get the HIV on the day and have the STI cert posted out 7 days later.

The health adviser at Indigo would write down my ID details on the HIV cert and state that "any problems, get them to ring me and speak to me"- I was never questioned about the fact that my STI wasn't annotated with my ID details... but if I were questioned, I figure a phonecall to Indigo would have cleared up any problems.

I have to say that I have semi-retired from the industry now... the 30day rule, the cost implication and the fact that I'd often go 2 or 3 months without a single job made it totally impractical for me to carry on travelling to London, getting the certs etc, etc... it was costing me money.

Of course - if Persiston or some such other company who were always very good with me were to ask me to work for them again, give me firm dates etc - I'd go through the motions of getting certs again - but without guaranteed work its just not practical.
