Ofcom fined Playboy TV ?25,000 on 10th February 2005 for broadcasting encrypted R18 material just after midnight on 1st May 2004. Playboy admitted the breach of the code, expressed contrition and accepted "it was appropriate to consider a financial penalty".

The committee determined the breaches were so serious that an appropriate fine was ?25,000 which would be forwarded to the treasury. The 'contents sanctions committee' - unelected, unaccountable, well paid members of the political elite are Kip Meek, Sue Balsom, Kath Worrall.

Kip Meek is a male in case you were wondering and has also just been appointed from Jan 2006 "Chairman of the European Regulators Group (ERG)", "an interface between national regulators and the European Commission". And my VERY BRIEF research provided the following quotes: from an EU official, "His experience, and that of Ofcom, will be useful in steering the work of this very important group through a period of significant challenges for the regulation of the electronic communications sector." And from Meek "Ofcom's approach to the market in the UK is being followed closely across Europe. I look forward to learning from our European colleagues and helping to inform the wider debate."

Recently I have been skipping through some of the UNENCRYPTED channels
on sky, with programs such as Babecast, JaneyCam etc.

Considering these are unencrypted, the level of sexual content is quite high.

No naked fannies, but massaging bare breats, erotic movements (simulated
sex), rubbing oil on each other, open leg shots (with skimpy nickers) etc

My 15 year old son often watches TV after we have gone to bed.

Surely this is more corrupting than any sex film shown on a encrpted channel.

Makes you realise the mockery of it all.

This is why I'm probably the only one standing in the wilderness at the moment that believes we will not see r18 material on cable this year. Everyone seems to think this is going to happen and its incidents like this with Playboy that are going to set this back when they couldnt wait for the gun shot before running past the start line (so to speak).

It will be on IPTV I promise all the big guys know it thats why they are trying to buy internet rights to everything hard-core. We should have boxes on demo next week from Pace so should be great to see it work even if it is only in our own place, Get in now or you will be to late, Look at Private, they are.

Heathray. no mate, do you have broadband if so you will get IPTV, unrestricted 24x7 porn on demand DVD quality. BT estimate 6 million people will be able to get it by end of year all you will need to buy is a decoder box that goes between your phone point and your TV. BT are increasing everyones broadband in April for free so they can sell the channel network to channels at ?90,000 a year plus bandwith. We can provide it all on revenue share so at least all the poor British producers will be on there at the start. we are testing it all right now and it looks very promising, it even works live we demo'd it in Vegas with a 9 second delay so you can watch Fuck Trucks are they are being made and even help with the direction, ha ha what a laugh.

Watch some of the fta sex advert channels from Italy on Hotbird, they're getting pretty explicit and 24 hours a day. Still crap compared to what you pay for though. But even the free channels are stronger than sky's encrypted stuff.

I'll stick with the Euro xxx channels - I hope they keep R18 off UK sat. Not that it really affects me, cos I wouldn't watch it anyway, it's just you know they'd serve up shite even at R18 level.

I think H/C on UK channels would knock spots off the garbage churned out from most of the fly by night here today gone tomorrow Euro channls...

As for the free stuff on Hotbird. It's free because it's garbage.......
