Too damn right it should Deuce. A big company like Kazaa is basically trying to hide behind legitimacy while it allows its users to rip everyone off in this file sharing platform/ p2p environment.

We're not talking about the two bit pirates making a bit of money on the side at a boot sale here.

Producers fork out hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions in investment expecting to make their money back. They are not charit

That it should is a given but wether it will is another

Far too many looholes exist for the individual to committ copyright fruad and escape harms free

The way I see it if this fight results in a loss then the artists will be th ebig losers

I'd hate to think what a worst case scenario entails

My View on this is somewhat odd...

The porn world as a whole Embraces the internet, and gives soooooo much away, that in the end its not worth stealing it.

Very True if your looking purelly from a punters perspective

Even as an innocent punter you soon learn that most of the pics/vids you download for free are stolen content

If you were to magically remove all the violated copyrighted material overnight there would be bugger all content

P2Ps are the heart & soul of copyriht theft

And that's precisely the problem How many of these guys gettingit for free or as a preview would actually buy the product? Even if they liked it they'd sttle for the fact they've seen it therefore why buy it.

This is the attitude of some people who buy crap pirated dvds of movies in general. Some take it as a preview to seeing it on the big screen but for most, they won't bother.

Thats the thing about the internet. There are way too many freeloaders to amke any real money out of and thats where i see companies like Kazaa should pay- through the fuckin' ass. Theft is theft but Corporate theft is the worst.

This is bullshit. For fuck knows how long the music industry`s blamed the net for the lack of sales. Its more a case of people saying "Well I wouldn`t pay a fiver for that song on cd but its worth downloading for free.
I mean the obvious solution would be for the courts to tell these p2p companies to start charging membership to people to be a part of their network and then so much of that would go to the record companies. Something like that.
Interesting point though, a bit torrent site that hosted tv shows was recently shut down by an American court, yet the ones hosting porn are hardly bothered.

Its just the same as pirate copies. I mean most people didn`t but porn , they had 25th generation copies on video.
Me personally I`d rather buy it legitimatly. You don`t know what the hells being uploaded onto these sites or what you`re downloading, it`s not worth the risk

I know exactly what you mean Samsung. Something like a promotional trailer is fine but not when its damn near well the whole movie intact with main and end credits!

I presume this is the sort of thing PKAY is referring to. At least some pirates where more effective as they sometimes were generous enough to pay for the rights to pirate your stuff. This kept the wjeels greased for the producer to make more and the pirates conscience was a bit clear because he was "licensing it" non exclusively from the producer.

Kazaa effectively kicked the producer in the nuts until he is down and kept on kicking. That's not nice. Fuck'em. They got what they deserved long over due I say.
