Don't be put off by the needlessly trollish responses below. Amateur porn is certainly feasible, enjoyable, and worthwhile. Whether it's purely a "vanity" project or whether you have ambitions as a producer/performer, let Unlce Rimbaud, a veteran of 25-30 amateur productions, give you a few pointers.
First of all, don't talk about using escort girls for filming. They don't like it here for various valid reasons, explained in the FAQ. It's not necessary anyway.
GETTING THE GIRL(S) - this is not difficult. Unless you're a millionaire and/or have fifty porn films behind you, however, you ain't gonna be shagging Silvia Saint. However, many of the less-well-known, up and coming girls on the Brit scene certainly will fuck amateurs. Don't however, think that this means you can get away with being sleazy, unprofessional, tight-fisted, unwashed, disrespectful, or anything else. Try to have everything else - budget, crew, plot, location - sorted out BEFORE you contact the girls. They get a lot of timewasters - don't let them think you're one. The more details you can give the girl as to your project, the more confidence you will inspire. If you get this right, then the best way to make contact is through an agency, many of whom have been mentioned on here - surf back through the forum topics and check for reccomendations.
STARRING IN THE FILM YOURSELF - entirely possible. However, you are asking a lot more of the girl if you're a total unknown, so get the basics right. Be upfront that it's you in the film. Some girls may ask for a photo of you - if so, send them one, WITH CLOTHES ON. Don't think you have to be Brad Pitt, you don't, but it's courteous to send a photo. You want to know who you'll be fucking, and so does she. On the day, don't get carried away, stick to the plot, and discuss EVERYTHING - repeat EVERYTHING - you want her to do BEFOREHAND. Be nice about it - these girls are broad minded, but they don't want you demanding XYZ sexual act in graphic terms while rubbing your thighs... I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, but be respectful, don't take liberties - the girls deserve to be properly treated. Oh, and wash your cock.
BUDGET - the bigger the better. Depends on what you want to do and how many girls you want, as well as length of production, location, etc. The choices you make as to studio and crew will impact your budget too, but we're talking low-four-figures for even a vaguely serviceable amateur flick. Don't be mean. Don't think you can cut corners. People in this business don't really make much money, they're charging what they need to charge. Pay the girls a decent wage - there'a a discussion on how much they charge, below.
LOCATION - you can film porn anywhere, but if this is your first attempt, be realistic. Outdoors is a fuckload more difficult than you'd think. Your back bedroom/a hotel room may be the obvious choices, but many girls won't be comfortable filming there, for understandable reasons. You'll appear more professional, trustworthy and well-intentioned if you book a studio where there will be other people in the building to reassure her. Remember, she's got no hard evidence that you're not a total psycho or sleazebag. So do your best to provide her with a safe environment. Studios generally have bedroom sets with, well, a bed, which is a good, realistic location for a first fuck flick. If you decide to go down this route, check the boards here for good studios, or email me.
PLOT - Keep it simple - in fact, it's best not to have a plot for simple amateur productions. Keep it to the fucking, don't demand too much of yourself especially if you're doing some of the technical stuff as well. Don't try to do anything too weird or raincoatery the first time you shoot with a girl - a lot of girls are fine with anal but use your judgement as to what to ask for and, this is the golden rule, RESPECT HER DECISION WITHOUT HESITATION.
TECHNICAL STUFF - filming is easy, within reason. However, filming while fucking is bloody not easy. Editing, meanwhile, is damned hard. If you're starring, you'll need a cameraman, and in any event you'll need editing expertise, which costs money. Your contribution is the creativity and the cock - their contribution is the know-how. For a cameraman, I usually use a mate who's nifty with a camcorder (and a high quality camcorder with a good, separate microphone) but you can ask the studio to provide one. Editing facilities and personnel can be provided by the studio, but they eat up the budget like almost nothing else so be prepared to pay. The reward will be worth it, as badly-edited porn is no porn at all. If you're interested in learning the technical arts of film-making, go to your local night school/technical college - it will take time, and perhaps money, but the new-found knowledge will pay itself back once you've had plenty practice. If you're serious about making porn, especially for release, you will need this know-how sooner or later.
I hope this helps. Any queries, or if you need reccomendations as to studios - email me - misterrimbaud@hotmail.com.
To all the other members of this net community, I hope I have provided a little insight into responsible, serious, amateur approaches to porn. There is no need to barrack people with an interest in going it alone - this is where we all started. Once again let's keep it friendly.
