Ahh yes...1972, when deep throat meant deep throat. Nowadays, sadly, practically any act of fellatio is called deep throat; no longer is it necessary to "make it disappear". The original movie will always remain a classic, as it truly delivered the goods. I heard that Linda Lovelace actually "trained" (some say forcibly so, but that's another discussion) for that performance. Imagine one of today's starlets actually learning and perfecting a new skill for a porno performance! That'll never happen. Today is more like "Just go through the motions as best you can, the poor saps will buy it anyway".

For prosterity I recently bought a DVD of that movie - interesting how dated it looks. The fashions, Mr Reams' moustache, 5 minute only sex scenes, and the amount of female pubic hair!
I also recently saw a video Rude Girls #3 in which a girl swallows one of those double-dong 22" lesbian dildos. She then makes extremely short work of her stud's respectable dick.
