Hi everybody,
I ordered from playhouseplaza.com and received my order three days later.
Not only was I amazed by the fast shipping.
It came in orginal box and the shipping was free.
As I did read on their site: customs no longer check for adult media.
As not so many people know sins last may there is a new law that says that adult movies can be sold to the UK.

As I talked to a few friends of mine I think this is true.
They did order many movies at shops like adultmediashop and
x-pressdvd.
And they did all arrive unopened a view days later.

Can anybody confirm this new law?

Thanks stephan

The legal change was a High Court judgement last year which decided that the British Board of Film Classification had been interpreting the Restricted 18 category wrongly. Basically, the BBFC had been acting on the assumption that even videos sold in licensed sex shops might 'fall into the wrong hands', i.e. kids, and on this basis they would not approve any real hardcore porn. The Hight Court decided this was unreasonable, as the whole point of licensed sex shops was to restrict sale to adults, and the BBFC should act on this assumption.

Following the Court judgement, the BBFC changed its guidelines for R18 to allow virtually any non-violent porn, though they are still tough on violence, including things like choking.

The position on Customs treatment of imports is more complicated, but they do seem to have eased off considerably, and the indications are that they will probably only confiscate things like kiddie porn, bestiality, and extreme S&M.

customs can no longer seize material posted from abroad on grounds of obscenity, if comparable material is being approved by the authorities for release here. that's european law!

the key word is comparable. obviously, kiddy porn, animal stuff, does not fit into this category but neither does anything including fisting, watersports, scat, etc, because those things are either illegal, or still considered obscene on the basis of police advice to the bbfc.

if you check out the bbfc guidelines for r18 categorisation, you can import anything that abides by those rulings, without fear of having your stuff filched by customs.

You can still fear it being filched by the postman, but not for legal reasons.
