STI/HIV certs in Leeds area

Hello Forum,

I have been asked by a girl in Leeds where she can locally obtain HIV/STI testing and certificates.

The only places I know are private clinics here in London.

I know how to find the local GUM clinics in Yorkshire but I am not sure if GUM clinics will issue certificates anymore like they used to. Does anybody know if they still do?

As I very rarely visit that neck of the woods I was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction....either a GUM clinic that will issue certificates and results or a private clinic.

Thanks,

Steve.

Hi there,

Lara, do you get your tests done at the Leeds clinic? The reason I ask, is that when I went down, they point blank refused and told me that I was monopolising appointments and that I would prevent those who really need them from being able to attend!!! Well, I mean shame on me from wanting to prevent an outbreak and in doing so, stopping all those "worthy" folks with scabby bits from getting seeing to.

Well sorry for the rant guys, but you know!

Alexis xx

Iam based nr Leeds, however i have never found it easy getting an appointment or even a certificate.

I managed to get them from Huddersfield and Staincliffe hospitals, however it was like asking them to cut their own throats. I think Staincliffe said they would issue me one but not again in the future.

She would be best driving over to medi-lab in Salford, Manchester.

www.medi-lab.co.uk

Thats were i go to as all the GUM clinics in West-Yorkshire tend to have 4-6 week waiting times.

It's a 45-50 minute drive from Leeds, their situated just off the end of the motorway so really easy to get to.
