My first post to the (excellent) message board on BGAFD, so I'll introduce myself as an early-thirties London-based guy with many years experience of circumventing the UK's archaic 'porn laws' and getting hold of the good stuff regardless

I've noticed a lot of posts about VidShop. Clearly, those who have reason to be dissatisfied are more likely to post than satisfied customers so I feel I should redress the balance. I've ordered three vids from them and the orders all arrived within 10 calender days. I'd say they are a fundamentally honest outfit with an occasional tendency to fuck-wittedness! What I *do* like about them is the extensive and varied stock they carry and there's always new stuff everytime I check their site. This brings me onto my (slight) beef with YourChoice.

I first came across these good people in 1993 (I fink) and ordered sporadically for a while before losing interest in them. Their old A5-sized catalogues with fatherly words of advice from 'David of YourChoice' are classics! This firm clearly have top-notch customer service and their integrity is unquestionable. They do seem to carry a very restricted selection though with an excessive leaning towards SLY (and her ludicrous comedy knockers!) and the more gynaecological German stuff. I'd come running back to YourChoice if they signed a few more distribution deals with quality outfits. I'm thinking of Private here.

So, YourChoice - bring us a goodly selection of Private shows with more of the 'Choice' all round and I'll start spending again!

Yes,but Your Choice actualy deliver. and as for choice,have you actualy visited the YC web site? its got plenty of choice as far as i'm concerned. and ive never seen one post about YC not sending tapes,so i know where my cash is going and its not to stoke FC!

Your Choice every time. I think the fact that you can phone them and speak to an actual human rather than an answering machine indicates that they are kosher. Vidshop have a very impressive website but can they actually supply the titles?

I remember months ago someone from Vidshop posted a reply to the complaints to say they had got their act together. That was months ago and people are still having problems. Vidshop have not made any comment on the latest bunch of complaints on the forum. Perhaps they are finding it difficult to explain why its taking so long to sort themselves out. I will use them when I hear that they can deliver.

Onto the matter of Vidshop, I've only ordered DVDs from them. Out of 12 I've ordered, only 1 hasn't turned up and I havn't had a reply from them as to why.

The problem about Your Choice from my POV is the rather restricted choice of DVDs on their site. I have yet to find another adult site which carries Ben Dover's DVDs on the Canamax or RouteXXX label.

Most of the others I order I get directly from the US or Canada so don't bother with the European sites as the ones across the pond work out a lot cheaper ($21.99 as opposed to ?25.00 - postage being roughly the same...and no, I don't pay anything in VAT or Duty on them either)

Orgazmik have a couple.

YC win on attitude: they replace duff tapes/non-arrivals without question, and inside a week. Vidshop seem less well-motivated, and I get the impression that they're not really interested in stocking VHS any more (DVDs take up less storage space, I guess.....). I can wait weeks before getting a result from the Vidshop: with their larger range, I'd order shitloads more from them if I could actually get my hands on the stuff in a reasonable time-frame. Good for Private vids is Sexpress, about the same price as Vidshop after shipping is added, and humans running the show. Re YC, remember also that Vidshop/
Sexpress are supplying originals.......

I thought canamax were a long defunct mail order company. Are they still on the go as distributors? I noticed on Vidshops site that they describe canamax as a studio. Are these the only uncut Ben DVD`s? I am confused. Someone please explain.

They seem to be early Ben Dovers. Couldn't say whether or not they are cut, apart from Banned in Britain which is not cut. But not all had scenes which would have been cut anyway.

The Canamax releases are Ben's early work. I wish the rest of his earlier stuff was available on DVD. Oddly enough, I found it a lot more enjoyable than his more recent efforts. Dunno if it's me just finding the "older" girls more appealing or what.
