Could you do us collectors a favour and provide cast lists in your catalogues and websites. This is more important than long-winded corny descriptions of the action. It will definately increase your sales as most of us have our favourite models and if we are not aware that they are in the film we will not be tempted to buy it.

That's sometimes a bit easier said than done. On a standard Model release, there is a section that the performer fills in, which asks for real name, supported by photo and govt issued ID (as an age check), there is also another section for 'stage name' preferred.

We have made films with the same model where the stage name has changed in the period between two films, which would negate the idea above. The model known as A (real name) wishes to be known by the stage name of B (stage name), howver on the second film, she now wishes to be known as C !

Even the cast lists that we submit to BBFC have to reflect this.

It wouldn't help because even if the collector/viewer got a handle on the girls preferred stage name, it would be subject to change. It's far easier to put a good picture of all performers on the sleeve as an aid.

Fair enough about pseudonyms....
If it's so easy to show a decent pic, why can't I make out the girls' faces without a Scanning Electron Microscope? [And no digs about it making you go blind, please.]
I usually end up wasting considerable time trawling thro' bgafd/iafd to get the vaguest idea of who I;m going to see. (Shouldn't the latter be "US database, oh and we threw in a few Euro models who came here for a day-trip, but we couldn't pronounce their names, anyway, who cares, they're just a bunch of FOREIGNERS, adult database"?)

To be fair iafd have to contend with the same problems as outlined by Maxim, which was a major motivation for this site.

I can't speak for other producers, but most I know of use good cameras, good lighting, good scanning or high quality digital stills for that very reason.

The Bootleg market is responsible for a lot of the poor quality covers, colour photocopies ! Which is yet another reason why producers fight so hard against it. (Money being the first, I know) We always get blamed even though we only produced it....10th generation copies down the line, the blame is still with us. Poor picture, poor sound, poor cover pics !

I had 200 video original video covers arrive from germany and every one is clear and easy to spot the girls (not that I would know 1 German Girl from another 1)

Even printing psue er.. aliases would be a step in the right direction. A lot of catalogues use vague descriptions such as "a small titted blonde takes a dp". Most of us are aware of the aliases our favourite girls use and we could then check this site to see if the film is listed. I do hope some mail order companies read this thread.

My complaint is a general one (note the thrust directed mainly against US treatment of the Euro scene, which seems to lack its own DB. Example: tracking down Ben's Krystal De Boor's titles led me a merry dance).
As I've said ad nauseam, these databases are a godsend, BUT like any such essentially statistical activity they're only as good as the data supplied to them (see Op Polls, for example).
A good way to go would be to follow Private's use of captioned photos of the entire cast in the credits (although their captions have been transposed several times recently!).
Their site is a prime example of what I'm talking about: often the same girl appears in their OWN titles under several different ally...pseudonyms, and half of their models have no associated photos, so you end up trying to simultaneously compare 10 films to positively ID one girl. I know it's difficult to backtrack 10 years or so, and they're a business, but dear, oh, dear.....(help! I've turned into a POV correspondent).

i agree names are good..but the flip side of this is if theres somebody i cant stand then i wouldnt bother.eg. jenna bloody jameson hate the cow also dolly golden ugly or what i always fast foward her bits..so there are two ways to look at it ps jenna i dont like................
