Posting URL's

Some ppl here manage to post URL's in messages where the actual URL is not visible - only a relative word. For example, instead of "http://www.dogfart.net/galleries/025-401/" you'd have just "Dogfart" and underlined, ready to be clicked on. It's a lot neater than a URL, so how's it done?
