I suddenly started getting A6 leaflets through the mail at the start of 2001 from a company called UK Select who seemed to offer UK-based vids. I duly bought 3 which were all pretty good quality and value for the price.

The leaflets / catalogues continued for 1 month after my order than vanished. All attempts to trace them through other means (the Web, bulletin boards, mates etc.) would indicate they either went bust or got busted.

Anyone have any news?

PS - They don't owe me any money or orders, just sad to see another supplier go down (if they have).

A lot of small suppliers have fallen by the wayside now it's semi-legit and the pile it high, sell it cheap merchants have started to move in and fuck the whole job up.

Cheap goods are all very well, but you get what you pay for. If you?re happy with mainstream American imports, with the original DVD/video cover patronisingly altered/butchered by nobhead distributors so that you'll belive it's a geunine adult film, then you?re in for happy days. But if you want interesting and original British material you could be struggling, because as the British market is much smaller than Europe and the States, the unit costs per production are much higher. The big boys don't care about porno - they're just shifting product - it could just as well be soap powder to them.

Really? I thought they went bust a lot earlier than both you two are saying. I certainly never got anything out of them when I wrote. There must be a big back catalogue of groovy stuff lying around somewhere, UK select was mainly Kool Klass models. Laura Singer, Anna Marie etc. Anyone else still getting mail from them?

What was the address on your latest catalogue, fellers?

Yes, it is lying around somewhere - the carera masters are in my office to be precise! Me n' my colleagues inherited most of the UK select material after they ran into various 'legal problems.' I'm not sure about who may have sent any recent litrature - but I would be careful.

We plan to re-release all that good old stuff under a different banner shortly.

Er sorry - got UK Select mixed up with Target as they are very similar and could be the same people.
They use the same address but with the Target name.
Send your name and address and your should get a catalogue.
They advertised recently in Desire.

The webspace is booked and waiting for me to upload. Trouble is I havn't had chance to do anything - though I do anticipate some action on that front in the next couple of weeks.
