Sarah,
Personally my preference is for either neatly trimmed or shaven. If trimmed, the hair should be above the pussy on the pubic bone with the labia hair free.
The reason for that being, pubes have a very bad tendancy to stick in your throat or between your teeth when you're........errrrrrrrrrr......ahem !wink!.
Well, that's my 2 pennyworth anyway !grin!.
