Live Shows

Just as a continuation to another post about Adultlive TV earlier - is the concept of offering live hardcore porn shows streamed on the internet completely flawed?!

I say this as does anyone remember Hotbox Live that was on maybe 18 months ago?? I personally thought it was a really good channel. I remember girls like Cathy Barry, Laura Michaels, Lolly Badcock were all on it at some point. Of course the main problem was I remember watching it and although I did call in a couple of times, callers were few and far between. I always got the impression no-one was watching the channel.

Now here we are 2 years down the line and Adultlive TV seems to have suffered a similar fate. I thought it started really well with stars like Amber Leigh, Keisha Kane etc starring in some excellent shows but gradually I felt the quality of the show and the quality of the performers went down hill. Certainly if you look on their archived video library, I think most people would be in agreement that the earlier videos are the best. Again, callers seemed to be at a premium and I never recalled seeing too many people in their chat rooms. How many people were actually watching this show??

Being simply a porn fan and not a person involved in the business I have no ideas about costs etc for hiring models, running such shows but I can only think that the low number of viewers has contributed to the channel spending much more than it was making and thus losing money.

It is a shame as I think the idea as a concept is excellent - as popular (albeit softcore) channels like Babestation have proven. However, there is obviously something which is stopping people from tuning in. The fact that top pornstars such as Angel Long offer webcam shows as well as Adultwork models means perhaps live sex interaction is best served in these places.

Good luck to Adult Live Tv and anyone else embarking on such a project - I hope it is succesful.

Looking forward to reading the replies to this post.

Could not agree more with these comments. I am sure production costs must be high and as such a high level of customer support is required. Adult live for me let themselves down with poor publicity despite offfering a really good product

In addition, I think the costs for viewers are really expensive... To watch one show was ?5 but add to that that its about ?1.50 to call in the show, it means that you realy have to spend at least 10 mins to get anything worthwhile out of it... Expensive stuff! I'm sure this puts a lot of people off.

marton is right, it could have been marketed differently. However, it's not the first show of that kind to fail.
