Joanne Guest

When I look back on my youth and how I first got into porn, my earliest memories are of creased second hand Paul Raymond magazines bought from classmates or found in the back alley. It was such a thrill to see an established page 3 girl nude, especially one so cute as Jo Guest. Jo was my first porn idol, yes only soft core, but an introduction to the world of glamour and and the beauty of the naked female body. I grew up on Jo and had a collection of magazines and cuttings that filled an entire wardrobe. I still have some of the magazines but now-a-days rely on the internet for my Jo fix. I dont believe we ever had it so good as when Jo posed month after month in Mens World, it was like Chrismas Eve on the days before the new edition would come out.
I make this post because porn has never really been this exciting for me ever since. There is no-one like Jo any more. The girl next door whom was as rude as fuck. I met Jo once and can honestly say she was one of the most down to earth and nicest people you could ever meet. I really hope that some of the porn publishers can persuade Jo come out of retirement and pose nude once again. There is a legion of fans out there who would dearly love to see Jo in action once again.
Jo was the last of the old porn heroines before the internet came and made faceless stars. She is sorely missed by me!

I must concur Spunkie. I used to buy the mags and get freebies religiously.

I bet the local newsagents misses me cos I havent bought a top shelf mag for years especially since all the couples now come to me direct anyway.

Back in the day it was like a bible of new faces on the scene.

The world is changing and all good things must come to an end...or evolve but yes I agree, Jo was definitely a good reason to buy those mags before they went all euro girls on us.

Dont get me wrong the euro girls are stunning but who cared seeing a nice picture of them in a mag when you can see them getting it in all holes at the same time in a dvd?

Jo didnt do hardcore and therein was the big appeal

The internet really killed off the magazines anyway and may well be the ice age to the porn industry unless us dinosaurs can find a way to adapt

My first introduction to nude mags was back in the days of Health & Efficiency and the shooter who had a whole mag A5 size with his statuesque airbrushed nudes. Then I think Mayfair came out.

I actually refurbished the publishers offices in WC1. And sold them my first set.

I do remember seeing the first set of a girl doing full frontal in Mayfair or Men Only, it was an actress. If my memory serves me right.

Then I traveled to Europe and got my mind blown away by what was available there.

Used to meet Jo in Steve Colby's studio. Smashing girl and a lot of laughs. Never got to shoot her.

But did get to shoot a few others.

Retired.

Yes, the girls back then were oh so classy. I miss Sammy.

Is it any wonder that the monkey's confused?

I've only ever bought one adult magazine, and that was because Jo was in it.
