Is Porn a full time job...?

I ask this question, as I wonder how many people actually earn their full time living from porn...

I know there are the "special" few, but there enough "income" to live off??

are the repeat fees high enough to give producers on going income??

Do female models, AKA the stars... do they get royalties from their work??

Just interested...

Cheers

It's my only job. I'm not rich by any means but I get by ok.

The main thing is to not just limit yourself to one aspect of the job. For example I work as an affiliate, I shoot and sell content and I shoot and run paysites.
It's a lot of work but it beats having to do a normal 9-5 job. The only advantage with a normal job is you know you are getting paid each week or month, where as in this industry you might have a few quiet weeks followed by a few good weeks.

Nowadays no I would say. A few noteable exceptions sure but generally no. Girls the top few maybe but not just from porn. They earn their money from the TV phone in rubbish or hooking but not just from porn.

Royalties now that's funny !

It can be but most never get rich from it, John can spend 10 hour a day editing bits for other girls & thats without the 11 shoots we have done in the last 3 weeks so yes for us its full time.
Comparred to a lot on here we are the poor relation but we get by & we honestly enjoy what we do as it goes perfect with our swinging lifestyle.

Don't start making porn to earn lots of money, make porn because its in your heart & its then a bonus if it kicks off & you can make a living from it.

Models are the first in line in the food chain to get paid, otherwise product wouldnt get made.

Im not against models earning extra by becoming afilitates to their scenes or sites they appear on as this requires promoting it which I see a few girls are doing exceedingly well using the social network sites like twitter and facebook.

One such model has over 20,000 members on her twitter alone but royalties after they've been paid? I'm with Dave on that one

I think Laura Hermansen made her living solely from porn. I saw an interview with her, filmed in 2002, where she was asked what she did previously. She said "I used to be a fitness instructor", and that suggests that porn and modelling was her sole income at that time. She also says in the interview (this is in the 'extras' bit of the 'Mind Of A Horny Woman' DVD) that she has just returned from a holiday in Corfu. Clearly she was not just scraping by but earning a reasonable living from what she did (she was active in porn from 2001-03). She made loads of films then, about one every week or two during that time period.

Porn for me is a full time job.

Like Weshmorph I shoot, edit, travel, fly, network, schmooze and still have to meet new people and potential couples, admin, updates, promotion, blogs and a lot more I havent mentioned

In short bar my website run by my webmaster Im a one man army. i do have a business partner who takes care of other matters but when you have various people on board you have to consider what you do as full time

Have to agree there Terry networking is the major time factor as it can takes weeks to arrange & plan a shoot, we traveled for 12yrs making films & found that very tiring so nowdays people come to us.
John always joked once that he would hire a photographer if we ever got big but we ain't he still does it all, now he wouldn't dream of getting others in because to him doing photos & films are the norm.

Full-time since 1997.
and I know several models that earn a full-time living from either modelling or their sites without having to do phone lines/escorting etc.
