I get really mad and angry when we hear all the dogooders and such climbing on to the latest big thing in an attempt to go for publicity and sound like they are something or contribute to public opinion.
They say that Jo Yates killer killed Joe through his fasination for strangulation porn that his fixation on this led to the killing. I am very sorry indeed that Jo Yates is dead - there is no excuse for this guy doing that - and to hid it behind porn and say that it should be banned is only finding something to blame other then society's failure to deal with the odd balls that populate the fringes of society.
Should we ban fords as he drove a ford
Should we stop making coke as he drank coke
Should we.... wehre does it end ? We do need to take stock on this and not allow the 'moral' stance to be used to decry porn. There is so much porn out there and if it is within the legal descriptions then it is okay yes by all means get rid of the illegal but dont go trying to tar all porn users with the dregs of society.

My opinion, he killed the poor lass so he should do the fucking time!
It's a cop out blaming your own actions on certain things, we're all given choices no matter how bad the situation and only ourselves can make the choice we see as right at that moment in time!
If he chose to kill her, he needs to live with himself for making his own decision to do so.
Rant over

Tabac was going to murder a girl one way or another, all watching violent porn did, was give him some creative ideas on how to do it!
He was a psycho nutball with or without porn.

Good post, William. No sane, well-balanced person suddenly decides to kill his neighbour after watching a few porn films. It defies logic. All this blaming porn shite is the usual knee-jerk sensationalism from the press. If you remember, before they arrested Tabak they already had Jo Yeates' landlord accused, tried and found guilty solely because he was a bit of an eccentric wee guy.
If it isn't porn that's getting blamed it is heavy metal music; or violent films; or video games; or anything else that doesn't quite fit the "norm".

Its easy to blame these rather than the f*cked up failings of our society...
The lawlessness that exists as there is no real punishment or deterance - yes this may not have worked in this case but Im sure that if we allowed the belt at school and made damn sure prison was feared then there would be a significant drop in crime. Also if there was a higher chance of getting caught and put away for crimes such as mugging and stealing, instead of the excessive play on parking and speeding.....
