BLUEBIRD TV RIP OFF??

Just wondering about something. Rang this morning and checked my credit before I rang. Since there was no Irish number, I rang the UK number and the 0044 code etc... NEVER got through, but the call would go to ON HOLD. Did this about 9 times and gave up, checked my balance, I was done for ?5. Seriously, is that not a rip off?

P.S I rang from a normal irish mobile and didn't intend to chat long to the girl, just wanted to ask her something. But on the website there is no irish number and I just don't get this pin number crap, can you not just ring in?

UK premium rate telephone numbers are not available to callers from Ireland, even if you dial the 0044 prefix, so if you didn't get through it's because you're not supposed to be able to get through on that number.

That's not a premium rate number, it's just a regular UK number with the international prefix, so you would therefore be charged by your service provider at their usual rate for calls to the UK. You wouldn't have been charged anything by Bluebird.

ok, but how come the call stops ringing and then switches to ON HOLD? I don't get that bit. That must have been the part I was charged for. I wish they would get and Irish number.

You'd do better to call a different channel instead
