i regularly check the bbfc website to see which dvd's have been certified and will be turning up in shops in the next 6 weeks or so - the usual turnaround time.
I looked today going back to 1st february and i can't see that any girlfriends films/adult channel/viv thomas or even bluebird stuff has been submitted/certified since 1st february - is there a problem etc, anyone know.

No money in DVDs especially when you've paid the BBFC their hefty cut.

Well those companies have been putting out around six titles a month for the past two years between them. No idea how much money they make but it's nearly two months since they had a dvd certified. Do they submit them for certification or the distributor (erigo in their case, though erigo also distributes harmony and score titles and there's been a few certified since 1st february)

Harmony can pump the titles through the BBFC no problem They make good sales because they have their own shops and their products sell well.
I dont know that for a fact but Im assuming from my knowledge in the distribution game a number of years back
I dont care what anyone says but Im convinced that torrent sites still lose you about 40 to 80% in revenue depending on how sought after the product is.

Submissions on DVD sales will be down no matter what. Whyd you think there is a need for ATVOD? Its future proofing their business in line with current delivery of media

There have been plenty of r18 certificates passed since 1st february just not those companies who regularly release dvd's. When those four companies have been so regular in releasing stuff it's very noticeable when it stops all of a sudden.

The worlds changing and porn is more disposable and available on the net There is not that much need for physical media like DVD unless you are a collector

You only need to buy R18 certified DVDs from a sex shop, if you buy from a website who ships from outside the UK you can legally buy non R18 versions of the films:
Girlfriend Films:
Bluebird Films:
Harmony:
Viv Thomas:
