The person in the post-office keeps on telling me that the post code does not exist.

It's a box number and it's on their website. We play it safe if it's not a box number and/or we don't know if a company advertise it widely. If a company sticks a UK box number in the likes of Men Only small ads, then it is probably OK to post it, though if we're not sure we'll remove it.
